THIS IS A SHOW!
Blur will play a set of unheard songs at Scott Walker's Meltdown next month, Damon Albarn has revealed.

The band, who only agreed to appear at the festival because it is being curated by legendary crooner Scott Walker, play the Royal Festival Hall on July 2.

Speaking in the new issue of UK music magazine Melody Maker, Albarn said Blur had been working on an entire set of new material for the performance.

He said: 'We'll be playing all new songs at Meltdown. It's not just stuff I've written – it's songs the band have done together.'

Meltdown begins on June 16, and features performances by Pulp's Jarvis Cocker and Steve MacKey, Smog, Elliot Smith, Asian Dub Foundation and Jim O'Rourke. Blur and Radiohead also appear, but both shows are sold-out.

'GOLDEN' GRAHAM IS FESTIVAL-BOUND

GRAHAM COXON will make his live festival debut appearances at this year's CARLING WEEKEND FESTIVALS in READING and LEEDS, nme.com can reveal.

Coxon, along with The Deftones, have been added to the line-up. YOUR CHANCE TO SCORE WITH ALEX JAMES!

FAT LES have constructed an interactive football game on their website in which KEITH ALLEN and ALEX JAMES compete, attempting to score as many goals past each other as possible.

In the game, you play Alex James. Beginning in the grounds of your own front yard, you have 45 seconds to head more goals past Allen than he does you to progress out of your street, through the park and on finally to the Euro 2000 Final.

On winning all three rounds, fans get chance to enter a competition to win tickets for the last ever football match at Wembley.

The new Fat Les single, 'Jerusalem', which is the official FA song for this year's European Football Championships is released on Monday (June 5). The song, which is an adaptation of the William Blake poem, has been branded by the band's Alex James as "one of the most expensive records ever made", costing more to make than the whole of his other band Blur's debut album.
