You may have read the poem called As the Snow Fell and wondered what The Sinners Prayer is. Or may already know, and want to find out more. One or the other, both, neither, whatever, just read on. The Sinners Prayer is what you pray to recieve God into your heart when you want to become a Christian.
When God made the world there was no sin. But sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, the first people. (Read about it in Genesis.) After that people offered sacrifices (like lambs) to God so that they would be able to enter heaven and be with God. That was all in the Old Testiment. In the New Testiment God gave his son, Jesus, to us. Jesus lived a perfect life. He was not a sinner and did nothing wrong. But he had to die on the cross for us so we could be with Him in heaven. God gave us Jesus to be our Lamb. If we believe in Jesus, acknowledge that He is the Lord, our God, and that he died for us because we sinned we should pray The Sinners Prayer. The prayer goes something like this:
If you want to be a Christian you should talk to a pastor or a Christian friend so they can help you on the way. Thank you and God bless!Dear Lord,
I know I am a sinner and am unworthy.
I have done some bad things in my life and need forgivness.
I believe Jesus died for me because I sinned.
I love you Lord and know that You are the true God.
Lord, I know you love me, and I need love and forgivness right now.
Come inside me and live in me and through me.
Thank you Lord Jesus.
Amen.
