~Chapter 17~

Danielle slowly opened her apartment door and stepped inside. Richard looked over the newspaper at her as he sat in the chair next to the fireplace. "You look horriable. What did you do, go play in the rain? Who was at the door anyway?" Danielle didn't even look up at him. She walked straight to the bathroom. "Danielle? I'm talking to you. Where are you going now?" Richard said as he stood up.

Danielle turned to look at him. "I don't feel like having company right now. I wanna be alone. Do you think you could leave?" She asked. Richards rose his eyebrows. "What the hell just happened? Who was that?" Danielle sighed. She hated when he acted like this. Sometimes she saw him more as a father figure than a boyfriend. "Richard, please go." Richard rolled his eyes. "Fine. I'm in no mood for one of your moods anyway. I'll call you later on in the week." Richard picked up his coat and walked out, slamming the door behind him.

A big bowl of cereal sounded good to Danielle. She hadn't had one in a very long time. After making herself one she sat down on her couch, pulling her feet under her body. She turned on the TV and flipped around. Danielle almost choked on her cereal when she landed on MTV. Brian's face appeared on the TV and soon his angelic voice filled the room.

"I can see that you've been crying. You can't hide it with a lie. What's the use in you denying that what you have is wrong?"

Danielle quickly changed the channel. Her was beating fast. After a moment she couldn't bare it. She had to keep watching. Her thumb pushed the channel down button and those crystal blue eyes appeared once again.

"I will love you more than that. I won't say the words then take them back. Don't give loneliness a chance. Baby, listen to me when I say I will love you more than that."

It was like he knew that this would happen to him in the future and thats why he chose to have that song on the album. She knew they made the song long before she even saw him again, but the words fit perfect for how he was feeling. She sighed. Who was she kidding? They fit perfect for how she was feeling as well. She missed him and wanted him in her life. Her thoughts suprised her. She wanted him more than a friend. The words he told her the the night before floated through her mind. At that moment she knew she made a mistake.

Just then the phone rang. Danielle quickly picked it up. "How ya doing?" Gina asked, concerened for her friend. Last night Danielle had called and told her what had happened. Danielle bit her lip. "What have I done Gina? I need Brian. What was I thinking? Richard? I should have listened to you. He IS an asshole."

Gina smiled. "So, what are ya gonna do?" She asked. "Do me a favor. Call and book me a flight for Orlando. I gotta go end it with Richard and then I gotta go see someone." Danielle said. "Will do." "Oh and Gina. I love you. Thank you for knowing me better than I know me." Gina laughed. "It's no problem. Now go get your man!"

Danielle pulled up in the driveway. She was still a little shooken up from her encounter with Richard. He didn't take it easily. He screamed, yelled, pleaded and even cried. She never saw him cry. It made her second guess her decision, but she knew deep down inside this was right. They fought for a while and now it was around supper time.

Danielle got out of her car and knocked lightly on the front door. After a moment the door quickly opened. "Danielle! What a suprise!" Danielle smiled. "Hello Jackie." "What brings you here? Brian went home last night." By the way that Jackie was smiling Danielle knew he didn't mention anything to her about last night. "I need to ask you a favor." Danielle said. Jackie nodded and stepped aside to let her in. "I need to know Brian's home address and how to get there from the Orlando Airport." She told her. "Okay, but why honey?" Jackie asked. Danielle sighed then smiled. "Because I'm in love with him."
