~Chapter 14~

"For how long?" Danielle asked. "Only a few days." Brian said, sighing into the phone. He had told her that he was going to New York with Nick to do a little pre-promotion for the next album. "I don't understand. It doesn't come out for a little while." "Well the new video is out and we want to hype this album up as much as we can. It's only for a few days, I promise. Then I'll be back and Chris will be gone by then and everything will be well and good." Danielle smiled. "Okay. I'll miss ya." "I'll miss you too. Love you and see you in a few days." "Love you too."

They said their good-byes and Danielle hung up the phone. Chris walked into the living room and sat down next to her on the couch. "You're up early. It's 10'o clock. You're never up this early." Chris shrugged his shoulders. "I thought maybe we could do something today. We could go to a park and you can take pictures or something." Danielle looked at him funny. "That's fun for me but what would you do?" "Talk to you. I can learn things about you that I was to much of a jerk to learn before." Danielle nodded. "Okay, I guess we can do that if that's what you want." Chris smiled. "Yeah."

Danielle sat on the grass and took pitures of the ducks in the lake as Chris sat next to her and watched. They talked for a little bit but then they grew silent for a while. Chris spoke. "I'm sorry for never listening to you and for being a horriable boyfriend." Danielle sighed as she turned to look at him. "You weren't a horriable boyfriend. I had fun with you when you weren't drinking or with your friends. That time when we went bowling, just me and you, that was proabably one of the best dates I ever had." Chris smiled. "Really?" "Yeah. We had so much fun just acting like fools."

Chris continued to smile, remembering that day. Danielle went back to taking pictures and they grew silent again. "You really love that Brian guy, don't you?" Chris said after a few minutes of silence. Danielle smiled. "With all my heart." Chris nodded. "I can see it in your eyes and in the way you look at him. We dated for a two years and you never once looked at me like that." Chris said as he lowered his eyes to the ground. "Chris, please don't do this. Don't make me look like the bad guy here." Danielle said, placing her camera on the ground. Chris looked up at her.

"I'm not. I'm just saying that it's all my fault. I ruined everything. I'm still in love with you and I can't help it." Danielle dropped her head and looked down at the grass. Why is he doing this to me? She thought. "You don't have to respond. I don't expect you to." Chris said. Danielle raised her head and started to talk. "Chris, please d..." Chris stopped her by leaning forward and kissing her. She quickly pulled away. "Sorry but I just wanted to see if you feel anything for me. Did you?" Chris asked searching her eyes for an answer. "No Chris. I'm sorry, but I don't. I don't love you anymore and you have to understand that." Chris lowered his head and sat in silence. Danielle stood. "I think maybe we should start to head home."

"He what?!?" Brian asked, yelling in the phone. "You didn't kiss him back, right?" "Of course I didn't." Danielle said, slightly offended. "He said he still loves me and then he kissed me. I told him that I don't love him anymore." Brian groaned. "And he's staying with you for how many more days? I don't think I want him there anymore."

Danielle sighed. "I told him how I felt and he understands. It's over and done with. He's hurt but believe me, he'll get over it." "I don't care." Brian stated. "I told you he gives me bad vibes. Why does he have to stay with you? Send him back to that motel." Danielle started to get annoyed. "You are blowing this way out of proportion." "Actually, no I'm not." Danielle was standing now. "Don't you even give me attitude. This is my home and I'll let whoever I want stay here." Brian felt like throwing the phone across the room. "Fine, do what you want. I gotta go." The phone clicked.

Danielle sat with the phone still placed to her ear. What the hell just happened? She thought. She hung up the phone and sat in silence. Why am I sticking up for Chris? And why was Brian so hooked on this bad vibe thing? She hoped that he was just being over protective and the next three days will go fast and everything will be back to normal.
