~Chapter 3~

Gina sat on the bar stool and wiped the area infront of her with a wet towel. "You can head home now. Your shifts over." Nathan said behind the bar. Gina nodded. "Yeah I know. I'll leave in a few. Just resting for a minute." Nathan nodded and turned towards the kitchen.

One of the other waitresses walked up behind Gina. "Hey, I found these sunglasses at that table over there. I think the last person there was that guy you had a few hours ago." Gina looked over at the table. Sure enough it was the table he was at. She took the glasses from her. "I know his room number. I'll bring them up to him."

As Gina stood in the elevator waiting to reach the 6th floor, she wondered if she would accept his offer. The problem wasn't that she didn't want to, but that she did. She stepped off the elevator and walked down the hall until she reached room 604. She knocked on it lightly and a few seconds later AJ opened the door. He smiled widely. "So, you decided you wanted to go." Gina shook her head and held up his sunglasses. "Actually, you left these downstairs. So, I'm gonna give them to you, then I'm going to say goodnight and walk away." She placed them in his hand. "Goodnight." She said with a smile and turned towards the elevator.

"Wait," AJ said, "come on. All I want is one small meal with you." He quickly stepped out of his room and closed the door behind him. Then he chased after her down the hall. "Is that so much to ask?" Gina stepped into the elevator and AJ quickly stopped the doors from closing with his hand. "You just don't give up, huh?" Gina asked with a slight smile. AJ shook his head. "Nope, sorry. I have this habbit of wanting to get to know girls who catch my attention." His raspy voice informed her.

His heart skipped a beat when a smile appeared on her face. "Well, I do like deep raspy voices. The tattoos are a big turn on. The chin ring I could get used to." Gina grabbed his hand and pulled him into the elevator. "I guess one small meal couldn't hurt." She said. AJ smiled as the doors closed. "By the way I'm Alex." He said. Gina looked at him strangely. "Really? I thought your name was AJ?" AJ's eyebrows rose. Gina laughed. "I don't live in a cave. I do know who you are. But don't worry I'm not gonna attack you for an autograph or anything." AJ smiled and was about to say something but the elevator shook and came to a quick stop.

Gina groaned. "Christ, not again." She opened the small door under the buttons and pulled out the phone. "Jimmy?" "Yeah?" The voice on the other end asked. "Its Gina. Elevator 3 is stuck again." "My last maintenance guy just went on break. He should be back in about 10 minutes, then we'll have you out of there." Gina sighed. "Alright, but make it faster then last time." She then hung up the phone.

AJ crossed his arms and smirked. "This happen often?" He asked. Gina nodded. "Yeah. This is the third time in 2 months this elevator broke down. It's the second time I've been stuck in it." AJ laughed. Gina sat down on the floor and made herself comfortable. "So, AJ, whats the J stand for in your name?" "James." AJ said as he sat down next to her. Gina could smell his cologne linger in the air. "Alexander James McLean. Fits nice together." AJ nodded and pulled out a cigarette.

"Ya know, those things can kill ya." Gina said, pulling her knees to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. AJ watched her every move. She still had on her outfit from the club. A short black skirt and white tank top. "I know, thats why I wanna quit." Gina licked her lips and nodded. "I used to smoke. I quite after I realized it made me smell like a chimney." "How did you do it?" "With fruit." AJ looked at her confused. "Fruit?" Gina nodded. "Yup. Everytime I had a craving for a cigarette I ate a piece of fruit. Mostly apples and oranges. Soon I started to get cravings for fruit more than cigarettes. You should try it." "Yeah, well it isn't that easy for some people." AJ said quit coldly. Gina put her hands up. "Sorry. Just trying to help, Alex."

AJ liked how she called him Alex. He only told her that was his name because he didn't want her to find out right away who he was. Not many people could get away with calling him that, but for some reason he liked that she did. He soon regretted giving her attitude. "I didn't mean to get all defensive. I've just been trying to quite for a while and it hasn't been working." "I'll help ya." Gina said. AJ smiled. "I'll let you help me if you promise to show me around for the next two weeks that I'm here."

Gina was silent for a moment. She hardly knew him but for some reason she liked the fact that he wanted to spend time with her. "Well, my best friend is coming into town tomorrow for a week. But I guess I can show you some things. Then, if I like ya, I'll show you around some more when she's gone." "Pfft, if? You already do like me. I can tell." Gina rolled her eyes and smiled. "If telling yourself that will boost your ego then go ahead and think that."

Before AJ could say anything the elevator started to move. They both stood. "So, where should we go to eat?" AJ asked. Gina smiled. "I know this nice place a few blocks away." AJ nodded and followed her off the elevator and through the lobby. "Do you wanna take your car?" He asked. Gina shook her head. "I walk to work cause I only live a few blocks away." "Okay, then we'll take mine." AJ said. Gina nodded and followed him to his car. She watched him as he walked. She didn't understand why he liked her. She thought she was just a regular girl. Gina shrugged her shoulders. He was cute and she wasn't gonna question her luck.
