Danielle peaked her head in the office room that was located next to the kitchen. She saw Gina in there typing away at the computer. She was still in her pajama's and there was a cup of coffee next to te computer. "How long have you been up?" Danielle asked. Gina looked over at her. "Why? What time is it?" "8:30." Danielle responded. "Oh, since 5." Danielle lowered her head. "Yeah gotta stop doing this. You get up way to early." Gina shrugged her shoulders and went back to typing. "I don't really have any other time to do my homework. Besides, I'd be up anyway. I can never sleep." Danielle stepped more into the room. "Which I don't understand. If I were you I'd be out like a light with all the things you have to do."
There was silence for a bit. "I'm going to call AJ today." Gina stated, changing the subject. "I'm going to invite him over." "What do you think will happen?" Danielle asked. Gina shrugged her shoulders. "We'll just have to see."
Later that day Gina called the Carter house to talk to AJ. BJ, Nick's sister, answered and after chatting for a few moments BJ mentioned AJ was on his way over. She let Gina go and when she hung up Gina started to straightened up the house.
AJ pulled up infront of the house in his Ford Explorer. He got out and started up the path. He smiled when he saw Gina sitting on the porch. "Hello stranger." He said as he stepped up onto the porch and sat down next to her on the porch swing. Gina smiled. "Hey. It's so nice out today, isn't it?" AJ nodded. "Very." He looked her over. Her hair was down and blowing behind her from the wind. She had on an orange Ambercrombie & Fitch tank top and jean shorts.
Gina reached for his hand and held it tight. "So, what's new?" She asked. AJ smiled and blurted out, "I made up my mind and I want this. I want Isabelle as my daughter and you as my wife." A smile crept across Gina's face. "Really?" AJ nodded and wrapped his arms tightly around her. Gina moved closer to him and layed her head on his shoulder.
They stayed like that for a while. They were silent as they enjoyed having eachother near. All AJ could smell was her hair. He loved the smell of her hair. He felt like he was in heaven having her in his arms. Gina moved her head and looked at him. "Are you hungry? I haven't eaten all day." She asked. AJ nodded. "A little. What do ya got?" Gina rolled her eyes. "Nothing. We never do. But thats okay. We can figure something out. Come on." She quickly stood, grabbing hold of his hand, and pulled him inside.
Gina looked in the fridge and cabinets but couldn't find anytihng worth eating. She turned and faced AJ who sat at the table. "Well, we got Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches." She said with a smile. AJ laughed. "Thats fine." Gina sighed and walked over to him. "I'm sorry." AJ wrapped his arms around her waste and pulled her on his lap. "It's okay. I haven't had a PB&J sandwich in like forever. Besides, as long as I'm here with you I don't care what we eat." He said as he leaned in and kissed her. When they pulled apart AJ smiled widely. "Finally! A kiss without one of us having to leave afterwards." Gina giggled and walked over to the bread basket.
They ate their sandwiches as they talked about everything that they could think of. When they finished AJ helped clean up. He put the Jelly back in the fridge and then closed the door. A picture on the door caught his eye. "Did Isabelle draw this?" He asked pointing to it. Gina turned her head to see what he meant then nodded. "Yup. She loves to draw. Do you want to see more?" AJ nodded and smiled. "I'd love to."
Gina left the kitchen and AJ quickly followed her up the steps. "Speaking of Isabelle, where is she?" AJ asked. Gina stopped outside a bedroom door in the hallway and turned to face him. "Danielle's mom is in town and whenever she's in town she wants to see Isabelle. So the three of them went out for the day. Which means we have the house to ourselves till tomorrow because I usually get a call late at night from Danielle saying that they went back to her mom's hotel and fell asleep. That always happens." Gina said with a laugh.
AJ smiled and followed her in the bedroom. It was clearly Isabelle's. There were pictures of unicorns all over the place. "She loves unicorns." Gina said. One wall of the room was covered with pictures drawn by Isabelle. AJ smiled as he admired them. Some had hearts and stars. Others had people with happy faces. There was one that caught his eye. There was a picture of a family. A man, a woman and a little girl holding hands. Gina noticed him looking at it. "She drew that the other day. She also told me something interesting the other day." AJ looked over at Gina as she spoke.
"She said she wants you as her father. She has never said that before about any man. I never even told her anything about the truth. She really meant it." AJ felt something light up inside him. That was the first time he actualy realized he was a father. He had made another human being with the one person he knew he belonged with. A smile appeared on his face. Gina placed her arms around his neck and kissed him lightly.
AJ looked down at her when they pulled away. "I have to leave in a week and I want you to move to Florida with me." He said. Gina was silent for a moment and then pulled her arms down to her sides. "Let's not think about that right now. I don't want to make any decisions right away. I want this week to be perfect. We can talk about it at the end of the week." Gina grabbed hold of his hand. "There are more pictures in my room." AJ nodded and followed her into her room.
Gina sat down next to the bed and pulled out a box. AJ quickly joined her. Gina saw it was the wrong box and quickly stuck it back under the bed. AJ noticed she was blushing. "What was that?" He asked. Gina shook her head. "Nothing." AJ smiled at her and reached under the bed and pulled the box out. He lifted the lid and smiled at what was inside. "You have an AJ box?" He asked softly. Gina nodded. She felt embarressed. "It's okay. I have a Gina box." Gina giggled. "You do? Thats so cute." "Yup." AJ said as he looked through the box.
Gina moved closer to him and looked at it with him. AJ read all the poems and letters he once wrote her. He knew he still loved her that much, if not more. When they were finished AJ slid the box back under the bed. Without either of them saying anything they started to kiss passionatly. After a few moments Gina stopped to pull AJ's wifebeater off. She traced her fingers across his chest and his back. A few chills ran down his spine from her soft touch. AJ then slipped her tank top over her head. Their lips came together once again. They both stood and then AJ leaned Gina back onto the bed. He pulled away for a moment so he could slip off his pants. He stood in nothing but his boxers. He then returned to Gina, helping her with her shorts. Soon they were in nothing but their under garments.
AJ climbed on to the bed and started to kiss Gina once again. He layed on top of her as her hands ran up and down his back. AJ's lips then moved from her lips to her neck and then stopped on her ear. He whisperd, "I want you." His raspy voice vibrated through her ear, sending tingles throughout her body. He pulled his head back to look at her. She smiled. "I know this is going to sound corney, but I've never felt so comlete in my life as I do right now. I knew something has been missing and now I know it was you." A smile appeared on AJ's face. "Now I want you even more." He said happily. Gina giggled and pulled him in for a kiss. Their lips never left eachothers bodies.
