    xDSL Information
The reason I have put a web page for xDSL, is because the connection that I run my computer at home off of is exactly that. I have an SDSL line that runs at 1.65mbps (downstream) and 1.6mbps (upstream). I ordered the line through AOL highspeed access. (KEYWORD: AOL PLUS) The line is run by Bell Atlantic and their service is called Infospeed DSL...I highly recomend this type of line to people that need a faster connection but do not want to spend the type of money for an ISDN (128kbps) line or T-1 line (1.514mbps)...If you order a DSL line through Verzion, they provide speeds above a T-1 they provide 7.1mbps (downstream) and 680.547kbps (upstream) rates. This type of line is an ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) which is when the downstream speed is much faster then the upstream speed. My line is an SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line) on this line the downstream rate is the same as the upstream rate...this service also costs more then ADSL. xDSL is distance sensitive...meaning if your home or office is far away from the central telco office your signal strength and speed will be reduced....average distance is about 15,000 feet.
