How do you cool your lips
after a summer's kiss?
How do you rid the sweat,
after a body's bliss?
How do you turn your eyes
from the romantic glare?
How do you block the sound
of a voice you'd know anywhere?
Sonny walked out onto the docks to see Liz Webber, crying. ''What happened?'' he wondered with compassion. ''Liz? Ya okay?'' he asked.
''Huh? Oh, I'm fine, Sonny.'' she lied.
''Something's wrong.'' he pressed. ''What happened?''
''Guys feel more than girls, don't they?'' she asked, though she really didn't expect much of an answer. ''How do you shut it off? How can you love someone one minute, and the next decide 'forever' was just a word you once used?'' she demanded, her voice breaking.
''I wish I knew, baby. I wish I knew...'' he admitted, putting a comforting arm around her and leading her to the bench to sit down.
Oh, I really should've known
by the time you drove me home.
By the vagueness in your eyes,
your casual goodbyes.
By the chill in your embrace,
that expression on your face,
that told me you might have some
advice to give on how to be
insensitive.
Juan and Sherry stumbled to the couch, heavily caught up in their making-out, and ripping each-other's clothes off. Juan lay on top of her, kissing her deeply, but suddenly forced himself to tear away from her.
''What's wrong?'' she panted.
''I... I can't do this. I'm using you. I still love Emily...'' he admitted guiltily.
''S'ok.'' she shrugged. ''I'm using you too.'' she purred, rubbing his hips.
He looked down at her, and was about to get up, when Emily came in.
''Hey, Juan? I need to talk to... OH... MY... GOD...''
How do you numb your skin,
after the warmest touch?
How do you slow your blood,
after the body rush?
How do you free your soul
after you've found a friend?
How do you teach your heart
it's a crime to fall in love again?
''Maybe Sonny really does love me...'' Carly mused, making her way across the docks. Suddenly, she came upon Sonny and Liz, seemingly in a snuggly-type position! ''That little... First Sonny and now Jason? Well, we'll see about this, and if I need Mr. Sonny Corinthos!'' she thought, steaming as she stomped away, not disturbing the little scene before her.
''I thought we were getting so close again... But, everytime we start to get there, it's like the rug is pulled from under us, and I fall into the bottomless dungeon...'' she sniffed. ''Why can't he just admit what he wants?''
''Lizzie, honey...'' Sonny sighed. ''Lucky's been through so much... We can't just decide what he wants anymore, despite what he wanted back then.'' he softened, seeing the hurt look on her face. ''Look... if you're meant to be, then he'll realize it in good time. Just don't push...'' he advised, giving her a kiss on the forehead as he turned to leave.
''Thanks, Sonny...'' she said softly, wrapping her arms around herself.
''Anytime kiddo.'' he assured gently, flashing that killer smile at her.
Oh, you probably won't remember me.
Oh, it's probably acient history.
I'm one of the chosen few,
who went ahead and fell for you.
I'm out of vogue, I'm out of touch.
I fell to fast, I feel too much.
I thought you might have some
advice to give on how to be
insensitive.
''Juan, how could you?!''
''Em, let me---''
''No! How could you do this? Why would you do this?'' she demanded, appalled.
''I... I didn't mean it!'' he shouted, filled with impotent frustration.
''Yeah, you've been doing alot of things you 'didn't mean' lately!'' she shot back.
''You won't talk to me; you've let Lucky take you away from the start... What was I supposed to do?'' he cried.
Emily just looked at him incredulously, spun on her heel, and left.
Juan sighed heavily and began buttoning his shirt...
Meanwhile, Emily ran all the way to the park. She finally fell down, by the fountain, her body racked with hysterical sobbing.
''It wasn't supposed to be this way... it just wasn't...'' she thought, her breath shallow and hitching...
Oh, I really should've known
by the time you drove me home.
By the vagueness in your eyes,
your casual goodbyes.
By that chill in your embrace,
that expression on your face,
that told me you might
have some advice to give on how to be
insensitive...
