Our loss
On May 18, 1999,Our life changed tragically. Our son passed away without warning of any kind. The day started out very good as it often did. Christyan woke up at 9:00 a.m. and I got up with him. I changed him, and then I fed him 8oz. He had no problem putting 8oz. down. Regular routine, we played for a little while. Usually he'd take a mid-morning nap, but on this day he just wouldn't. I thought nothing of it. Well, then we got ready for Mommy to come home for lunch because today was his first day at Daycare. Mommy works 1st shift and I work 2nd shift,which was perfect. He was never away from us more than 2-3hrs. a day. Christyan was getting real cranky at this point. I figured it was just not taking a nap. Well his Mommy came home and just took over.
About 2:05 pm we got to the Daycare, Christyan was sleeping. So we left him on his first day, we never did kiss him good-bye on that day( we regret it everyday ). At about 4:50 pm we received a call from the police department. Christyan's Mom got the call, we decided that she would go to the hospital and call me if anything serious had happened. Well, I got the call. When I got there I walked in the room, Mommy was holding our son in tears. I asked "How is he?" She said "He's not Breathing". With those words a very special part of us died. As I called family, the two saddest words I ever said were "Christyan Died".
Cousin's
Christyan with a few of his cousins. They all are a very special part of Christyan's life, and each one of them touched Christyan in their own way. But, all made him laugh so much. It was a joy to see Christyan and his cousins together. I know Christyan loves them as much as they love him. We love them all for being so good to our son.
SIDS
Stop Infant's from Dying Suddenly
SIDS gives no warning, shows no mercy or predjudice. SIDS change life forever. We never thought it would "happen to us", but it did. That's why now we are involved. It breaks our heart that we can't help our son Christyan, but we can try to help the babies of tommorrow.
Little Angels
When God calls little children to dwell with Him above, We mortals sometimes question The wisdom of His love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child Who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold, So He picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them,and so He takes but few To make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try, The saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye". So when a little child departs, we who are left behind Must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find.
