Pepper Sprays

All of our Pepper Sprays contain 10 percent OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) formula with a 1.5 million Scoville heat unit rating and an ultraviolet identification dye. This is the strongest OC formula allowed by law, but it is nontoxic and nonflammable. Effects of this spray last up to 45 minutes. All units can be fired multiple times and have a range of eight to 20 feet, depending on the model.

OC is a derivative of hot cayenne peppers and is the newest defensive spray agent. It is not an irritant like tear gas or Mace, but an inflammatory agent. Contact with mucous membranes (eyes, nose, throat and lungs) causes immediate dilation of the capillaries of the eyes. This results in temporary blindness and the instant inflammation of the breathing tube tissues, which cuts off all breathing except what is necessary to sustain life. OC will not deteriorate with age and unlike tear gas and Mace, it will not cause any lasting after effects. Because it is an inflammatory, rather than an irritant, OC is effective against all those who feel no pain such as psychotics, drunks and drug abusers. OC has proven itself to be the best deterrent available for attacking dogs and wild animal control. Another major advantage of OC is that it is not volatile and will not give off a lot of fumes like tear gas or Mace.
