How Pokemon got their Names:
Ever wonder how they got the names for Ekans and Arbok? Well, say Ekans backwards(S-N-A-K-E),it spells out snake and thats how they got Ekans. With Arbok its the same thing, say Arbok backwards(K-O-B-R-A)in a way its cobra but with a "k". Ever wonder how they got the names for Articuno,Zapdos, and Moltres? Its more in depth than Ekans and Arbok. You know how in numbered order Articuno is first,Zapdos second, and Moltres third. Well its the same principal. You see "Artic" means "Arctic" and "uno" means "one" so, this means that its the rare bird from the Arctic first(in numbered order). "Zap" means "Electric" and "dos" means "two" so, this time its the electric rare bird second. "Mol" means "Fire" and "tres" means "three" so, now it means the rare fire bird is third. Ever wonder how they got the names from Pidgey,Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot? This is very simple. The hole idea came from the word "Pigeon"(the birds who stand on statues and take a dump on everything). All they did was construct the word more and more everytime it evolved. Ever wonder how they got the names for Charmander,Charmeleon, and Charizard? This is also simple. If you break the words down a lot you can figure it out. Charmander is "Char" meaning "Fire" and "mander" meaning "salamander" so its a fire salamander. With Charmeleon its "Char" meaning "Fire" and "meleon" meaning "chameleon" so its a fire chameleon. With Charizard its the fire and "izard" meaning "lizard" so its a fire lizard.
