Coming out in May 2002, Episode II will come out in theaters. It is called the Attack of the Clones. Although it is Episode II, it is actually the fifth Star Wars movie to come out.
Sound complicated?
It's not that complicated. The movies simply came out a bit out of order. Think of it this way. You have a six chapter book. The last three chapters were published first and in order. Then the publisher decides to go back and publish the first three chapters, also in order.
Why do it that way? It's a fairly simple reason. It's easier to start in the middle than to start at the beginning.
Let's begin with movie known as Star Wars. It is the fourth episode and is more correctly known as A New Hope. The movie was directed by George Lucas and finally hit theathers in 1977. The next two episodes, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, came out a few years after A New Hope and were separated by a few years also. Twenty years after Return of the Jedi, the Special Editions of each movie came out. The film was restored to its original quality and then improved upon. A few extra scenes were added in.
In 1999, The Phantom Menace came out. The person who later becomes Darth Vader is introduced. To some fans dismay, there was Jar Jar Binks. The response of the fans was a mixed bag. Some liked it. Some didn't. I fall in the middle, but I'm not here to give my opinion often. I'm here to inform you of Star Wars.
If you haven't seen Star Wars, go see it. Run to Blockbuster or whatever movie rental store is in your area and pick up the tape and watch it. But not right now, okay? Give the rest of this site a look before you do.
