Tough love is a blessing and it does work. But your child has to be responsible enough to accept the consequences for their actions. When my son was 16 and believe me if I didn't have that to fall back on especially when he started driving.( I know your all sitting there saying my kid will never drive) but yes they do grow up! A child with a disability is like a fine jewel you found in the dirt, you don't know what you have till you start dusting the dirt off. And you start by being firm with what you say and do. A child is like that (struburn)when they are smaller but you do everything you can to raise them right. But be consistent. When they get older the consequences fall in place. I just had an argument with my son today. I just simply said Ok I'll put up with the ADHD, ODD Etc. but I won't put up with stupidity. Remember that fine jewel you found? He is starting to sparkle! But he would have never gotten there if we gave up on him. So parents you make mistakes your human! Just hang in there! Rosie ---Start of Code---
