Little Stevie Meyerson ~ a mortal, age 5, short, tow-headed, spunky kid. Stevie’s father skipped town before he was born, and his mother is a hopeless alcoholic. As a result of this, he doesn’t attend school, and roams the city by night. Little Stevie is very innocent. He does, however, throw a tantrum if he’s tired or cranky and doesn’t get his way. Though he has no fear of who he calls the ‘night-time people’(Kindred), and no comprehension of what they are, he still goes into a ‘frenzy’ when terrified.
Butch Williams ~ a mortal, age 23, tall, strong, well-built, with a sharp crew cut. He works as a bouncer at a night club in the city. Butch had a promising career in college football and possibly the NFL, but when he refused to date the daughter of a councilman, he was busted and convicted on a false DUI charge(this was before Bishop was Chief of Police). Williams is a kind kid, well-meaning if not too bright. He’s easy to confuse and control, but cannot be bribed.
Professor Bertrov Calovitch ~ a 9th Generation Ventrue working as Professor of Paranormal Studies at Swarthmore College. Calovitch, an old Kindred, spent most of his life(and unlife) in Soviet Georgia, and immigrated to the United States in 1990. He lives in his office, a small room in the basement of one of the buildings on campus, and teaches his class online.
Plainclothes Detective Martin Archer ~ a mortal, age 42, tall, genteel face, black hair. Archer was born and raised in Swarthmore, left to attend the near by West Chester University, then returned, married his high school sweetheart, and joined the police. He rose through the ranks, an soon attained the rank of Detective. Martin is a friendly man, moral, and volunteers at the city soup-kitchen, orphanage, and Youth Club. He and his wife have two daughters, ages 9 and 12; he is nearly impossible to bribe.
Coroner Sylvester Dillard ~ a mortal, age 31, tall, skinny, sallow complexion, dark brown hair. He was born in Alabama, where he suffered because of his poor people skills and anti-social behavior. Dillard dropped out of high school and moved north, going from job to job. Finally he came to Swarthmore, and found work as a coroner. A closet homosexual, Sylvester has problems dealing with the public. His apathetic nature makes him easy to bribe or control.
Chief of Police Monica Bishop ~ a mortal, age 30, average height, African American. She was born and grew up in a bad neighborhood in New York City, where she managed to get an OK education before earning a scholarship to Yale and graduating with honors. Bishop majored and received a PhD in Criminal Psychology, and minored and received a bachelor’s in Forensic Science. She spent six years on the force in NYC, then, looking for a better, more peaceful locale, move to Swarthmore where she rose through the ranks to become Chief of Police. Monica is bitter from years of hazing for being a woman cop, and very, very lonely. She occasionally falls for handsome men, but because of her cold exterior, nothing ever develops. Bishop runs things absolutely by the books, and cannot be bribed, but if appealed to in the right manner by a handsome man, could be influenced.
Pastor Robert Mitchell ~ a mortal, age 53, tall, shockingly white hair, in good shape. He’s the pastor of the 1st Baptist Church of Swarthmore, and is married with three daughters, ages 7, 12, and 17, the oldest is quite promiscuous and uses drugs. Although the Pastor doesn’t know, he does suspect she’s doing things that he wouldn’t approve of. Mitchell runs his household and church the way he was raised by his father, a general in the army; strictly. He knows that there’s something suspicious going on in Swarthmore, and is trying to find out what. He’s stubborn once on the scent of something, cannot be bribed, influenced, or controlled.
Officer Alexander Tobb ~ a mortal, age 28, tall, black hair, athletic. Born in Swarthmore, he was raised there and went to Penn State University. On returning, Tobb and his best friend since kindergarten, Caleb Firstein, attended the Philadelphia Police Academy, and when graduated, entered the Swarthmore police force. A year later, Tobb married, and does not yet have any children. He is a kind, if a bit immature, man, and is difficult to bribe, although he can be confused and thus controlled.
Officer Caleb Firstein ~ a mortal, age 28, average height, tan hair, athletic. Born in Swarthmore, he was raised there and went to Drexel Hill University. On returning, Firstein joined his childhood friend, Alexander Tobb, and attended the Philadelphia Police Academy, and when graduated, entered the Swarthmore police force. Two years later, Firstein married, and has an infant son. He is genial and well-meaning, if not too bright, and is difficult to, although he can be confused and thus controlled.
Ashley Wright ~ a mortal, age 45, average height, a brunette. The mayor’s wife, she was born Ashley Travis in Los Angeles, where she grew up, and graduated with a law degree from Pomona University. Unfortunately, there were too many lawyers and not enough firms in California, so Ashley moved to Tennessee, and a few years later, married the local DA, Charles Wright. Wright had his eye on the governor’s seat, but a campaign finance scandal wreaked his chances, so he and his wife moved to Swarthmore. After years as a DA, and work on City Council, Wright ran for mayor, being defeated twice before finally winning an election. He has served since. Ashley Wright suffered from depression in her early life, and probably married Charles because of his position, but she is not a gold-digger. Bored with her husband, who doesn’t pay that much attention to her, Ashley has been involved in numerous affairs with younger men.
Colleen Mitchell ~ a mortal, age 17, a bit short, dyed redish hair. The oldest daughter of Pastor Mitchell, she had always been a bit rebellious, and at an early age, took to smoking, drinking, and experimenting with some minor drugs. This angered her father, who has since been very strict and controlling. Colleen goes to high school, when she feels like it, but mostly hangs out in Swarthmore or Springfield. Recently she got a tattoo of a fanged skull on her upper arm, and is into the gothic movement, but only to mess with her father. Colleen has an official curfew of 11:00, but can usually be found out in the city until near dawn.
Tilli Rocca ~ a mortal, age 24, average height, black hair cut short. She works for the Swarthmore Sensational, a local town/tabloid paper. Tilli was born and grew up in a small town in Montana, being practically raised on trash news and sleazy talk shows. In the community college she attended, Tilli majored in journalism but was kicked out of the program for numerous ethics violations. Deep inside, she has some feelings and sentiment, but these are usually blocked by her exhibitionism and desire to get an angle on everything and make money from it. Though she doesn’t know it, most of her ‘sources’ are the harpies of the Kindred community.
