Digital Dave's Clubs
Digital Dave began his nightclub career in 1996 when he began filling in as a light tech at Donzi's nightclub on Pittsburgh's boardwalk. Two years later he was offered Saturday nights at the Beehive in Oakland which lead to a year of Digital Dave's Saturday Night Dance Party (Techno/Mainstream Dance). Then in June of 2001 he began working Sundays (Hip-Hop), Mondays (College Night/Hip-Hop) and Wednesdays (80's Night) at Pub I.G. One of Oaklands most successful club openings, Pub I.G. was packed seven nights a week during its first six months. A few weeks after Pub I.G. opened Digital was offered Thursday nights (Trance/Techno) at Chrome Afterhours In The Strip. Dave began at Chrome the first week of July and by mid-October the club changed it's format to Top 40, Digital Dave was spinning three nights a week and Chrome had become the most successful afterhours club in Pittsburgh seeing over 2,000 customers a week. Two years later at the clubs closing Digital was still spinning at Chrome, working Wednesday through Saturday at what had become Pittsburgh's hottest Hip-Hop nightclub. In December of 2001 Digital Dave left Pub I.G. and traveled to the strip to spin at Headliners, Pittsburgh's first multi-room, multi-dance format nightclub. Dave began at Headliners working along side TJ the DJ in the Techno/Trance room and within a few months made it to the main room, spinning a Top 40/Party format Friday Happy Hour, Friday nights and Saturday nights in Pittsburgh's largest nightclub at that time. When Headliners closed in June of 2002 Digital moved to Pittsburgh's new largest nightclub Matrix, a four-room complex and Rock Jungle, Pittsburgh's largest under 21 nightclub. After spinning week in Matrix's Club Exit (House) and a week in Matrix's Club Liquid (Trance), Digital was placed in the club's main room Goddess (Hip-Hop) after only two weeks. Digital would remain working in Goddess two to four nights a week over the next year, including Thursdays (X-Night), the busiest weeknight in the city, attratcing over 1,200 patrons weekely, Saturdays, the busiest night in the city, attratcing over 1,500 patrons weekly and Matrix's Halloween and New Year's Eve parties which both attracted over 2,000 patrons. Rock Jungle, where Dave was usually found on Friday's and Sunday's packed in thousands a week as well. Over the next year Digital also spun assorted nights at Bongo's Tropical Cafe, Touch Nightclub, SPI Nightclub and Club Liquid which was the Trance Room at Matrix. In July of 2003 Digital Dave left all of these part-time residencies for a full-time residency spinning a Top 40/Hip-Hop format Tuesday through Friday at H2O Nightclub, the city's only club which remains open until 3:30 AM.
