Iron -- by Simonne A.

Why is this element important in everyday life?

Iron has many uses in our everyday life. It is an important part of our everyday diets, it helps to transport oxygen to our blood cells, and it is used to make wrought iron, cast iron, and steel.

Where is this element found in nature?

Pure iron, which makes up 5 percent of the Earth’s crust, has limited use. Commercial iron can be improved by the addition of carbon and other alloying elements. Iron is also found in many foods such as red meats, raisins, dried apricots, whole-grain cereals, and oysters. Iron is also found in the hemoglobin molecule of the red blood cells. This helps the blood cells to pass through the lungs and carry oxygen throughout the body.

What are the properties of the element?

Who is Iron ?

My name is F.E. Iron. I am one of the Element Gods from the periodic world. I was born in 4000 B.C in Asia Minor, so I’ve been told. But I’m currently found in the Earth’s crust. As I grew, I made weapons for my people and fellow Element brothers. They used my weapons extensively and named an era after me called the “Iron Age.”

Many of the other Element gods do not really care for me because all the Element goddesses love me. That is because I am easily magnetic and many of the compounds like to cling to me. They also adore my metallic silver body.

I am also a very active element god. I can also be easily alloyed with other elements. However, I do not like the rain because I tend to rust. Next to my father Al Aluminum, I am the second most abundant of all metals.

In my spare time, I like to form wrought iron, cast iron, and steel. They are very important in you everyday life. My favorite foods that I must have everyday are red meats, raisins, whole grain cereal, and my favorite…oysters. These foods are a very important part of my diet and to yours.
