
Four friends growing up in Hell's Kitchen cause a tragic accident resulting in the injury of an innocent bystander. As a result, the kids are sent to a juvenile detention center. There they are brutalized and raped by the guards. Many years later two of the friends are street thugs, one is a lawyer, and one a budding journalist. A former guard from the detention center is suddenly gunned down. Can the friends get away with murder?
Sleepers is based on a best-selling novel by Lorenzo Carcaterra. Although Brad has few lines, his screen presence is undeniable, and the opportunity to work with the stellar cast could not be passed up The film was shot in New York City, and Brad was able to adjust his accent accordingly.
Brad was chosen for his dramatic ability, his screen presence, and his resemblance to Brad Pitt, who plays Brad's character as an adult. He pulled off a very realistic New York accent, considering his natural thick southern drawl. He was also required to wear colored contacts, so that his eye color matched that of Brad Pitt's.
