The Client marked Brad's film debut. He plays Mark Sway, a poor young kid who witnesses the suicide of a mob lawyer. Before he dies, the lawyer lets Mark in on a little secret: the location of a murdered senator's body. Needless to say, the mob isn't too happy about Mark's knowledge, and are attempting to silence him. The FBI, on the other hand, wants Mark to tell them the location of the body, but Mark is frightened of them. Casting director Mali Finn, who discovered Eddie Furlong for Terminator II, found Brad in Tennessee, where he was in a D.A.R.E production. Brad didn't just 'get lucky,' however. Many, many kids were tested before Brad was offered the part. Brad got along great with director Joel Schumacher, who to this day thinks the world of Brad.
