Winter's last gasp for parts of the Northeast on Monday, but spring is definitely on the horizon. A weak impulse is moving across the region and as a result, snow showers are developing over the region. Not really a big deal at all for us on Monday. Snow showers and possibly a brief period of light snow, is likely Monday morning.
The polar vortex is shifting into the Northeastern US. Meanwhile, a weak wave of low pressure is moving to the East just to our immediate South. Snow showers will break out by morning rush and continue through noon before tapring off the flurries shortly thereafter. Snow may accumulate on grassy surfaces and a coating to a half inch of snow is possible. Highs Monday in the upper 30s.
That's about it. There are positive signs that winter will finally be 'complete' for our region by Tuesday. The polar vortex will retrograde back into Canada and a powerful spring storm will rip across the US around the turn of the month. I will likely update Monday night and give a 'post mortem' on the snow and there will be a wrap-up of this winter season available in mid-April. It's been a fun year. Take care!!
