His real name was Henry John Deutschendorf Jr.

He was born in Roswell,New Mexico on December 31, 1943. He started off after his grandmother gave him this old Guitar and he learned to play it very well. He played for the kids at school and people knew him from his music. Later on in years he forgot all about school and work and started to work more on his music which started his life dream. He went places and met up with the Chad Mitchell Trio. He was doing very well but later as years passed the Chad Mitchell Trio broke away slowly and finally he got the big hit with a contract at RCA. He sang a special song with Peter, Paul, and Mary called "Leaving on a Jet Plane". He met his first wife Annie later on. As time passed the hits kept coming and the hurtful moment of him divorcing Annie. This hurt John a lot which made him sing a great hit called "Annie's Song". Another song came out which he didn't write for himself which was "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" which hit the charts. He had lots of great hits a the years passed and made the Windstar Foundation. He helped as much as could around the wolrd. He met another lady named Cassandra and they too did get married. John had 2 children with Annie and 1 with Cassandra. They too did divorce because of the same reason, not enough time to much with touring and helping the world also. He starred in a movie in 1977 called "Oh God!" which was portrayed by George Burns as God and John Denver as a clerk at a store. He starred in "Foxfire" with Jessica Tandy. He had shows with the muppets and movies also. They came out with a Christmas Album called "A Christmas Together". He got caught by the police twice for D.U.I. which hurt him. He had a Autobiography out in 1994 called "Take Me Home". He had a video he made called "Let This Be a Voice" which talked all about nature and which was his last video. In 1995 he had a Wildlife concert which was a uprising concert. He had his final cd put out which was a children's album called "All Aboard". On the horrible day of October 12, 1997 he has just played a round of golf. He thought afterwards he would take a spin out in his new Experimental Aircraft. His plane lisence was taken away but that didn't stop him. He went out and took a spin on the Monterey Bay. This was John's last experiance of flying a plane. He crashed into the ocean that day. News all over the world: John Denver is dead. The only uprise on this was that his children album "All Aboard" won a grammy. Even thought he died, his music and spirit will never die. This is the true story of a true legend.
