Carolyn's North Carolina Lineage

My name is Carolyn Summerset, granddaughter of a Betty Day. My search started from trying
to find the Irish/Scottish connection to an ancestor. I have been only able to go
far back as the african-american lineage of 1780.

The Lineage is as follows: Vincent Day married Nancy Owens in Granville County, N.C. on October 12, 1832.
One of their children was named: George Day (abt. 1843) of Kitrell, N.C.
who married a woman Named Angeline (b. 1855)(Angene, Angie).br> One of their children (my ggg grandfather) was James Edward Day (b. 1882)
who married a Mary Bell Reavis (b. 1883).

The url to my ancestry.com page is:

In conclusion, all of my grandfathers were labeled "mulattos."
However, we have been told that our link was to an Irish/Scottish Day.
All grandfathers were considered "free persons."
