A short story about how I first met my wife.

I was playing a gig one Sunday afternoon at Olympia Lakes in New Jersey and a woman came up to me to request we play the Twist. I looked down from the stage and there was a little 5-year-old girl leaning back in front of me, starring at me. The drummer said “Hey Frank I think the little girl is in love with you” and then the sax player said “Yah she thinks you’re Elvis Presley”. I remember the day clearly because I was 19 or 20 years old at the time. I never gave it a second thought until 17 years later. I was going through a divorce and dating my new wife to be. The first time I played the guitar and sang at their house her mother remembered I was in the Band playing at Olympia Lakes. We talked about it and recalled everything that happened that day from the songs we played, to things that were said. Her mother even showed me pictures of the day and her younger sister Shelia, who just happened to be our age. All the other guys in our band were single and trying to get a date with her. Shelia was very sick and passed away just 2 years later, but when I saw the pictures of her I remembered her and pointed her out in the pictures. We thought Shelia was the little girls mother until my future Mother-In-Law told us that she was her mother. Since then my Mother-In-Law passed away and now we have the pictures and the memories. Well, almost 21 years later and the little girl is now 44 and for some reason she still thinks I’m Elvis. She looked at me the same when we met the second time and she was 22 as she does now. You can see the look in some of our family pictures I posted on this site. Look at the cake-cutting picture from our wedding. The little girl got her wish and I got mine. Hard to believe, but true.
