Specific duties include: * generate metadata for spatial data sets (satellite imagery, aerial photography, and raster and vector thematic data); * create browse images for each available dataset, * post metadata and browse images on an on-line data catalog (accessible through the program's web site: www.limnology.wisc.edu); * work with regional tabular data sets (e.g. lake chemistry from a regional survey) so they can be easily linked to spatial data sets; * explore the utility of ArcView's Internet Map Server for interactively posting spatial data on the web; * work with the following software packages: Arc/Info, ArcView, ERDAS Imagine, Microsoft Excel and Access; * construct and update the web page concerning satellite images; and * work with GIS tools such as Arc/View and Arc/Info programs. |
