My History\Article III: A Timeline

I was born on 07.02.81 in Belleville, Illinois. Reagan was President.

I was born into a time of great mystery and wonder, great turmoil and strife. Mt. St. Helens had erupted only a year earlier, and greater turmoil was to come, for me and for the whole world.

I was sexually abused at a very young age. I don't actually remember the abuse, but the memories I do have are suggestive of something terrible.

For about ten years, I was systematically abused and tortured by my peers, my 'friends', those who were supposed to love me. In all that time, I really never truly had any lasting friendships, no support network, no emotional outlet, no physical or emotional intimacy. Through it all, I never once stopped turning the other cheek.

I endured a concurrent five-year suicidal depression. Too many nights I spent crying myself to sleep and praying that God would take me in the night, only to awake the next morning cursing Him for letting me live. I honestly don't know how I survived it.

1999 was a turning point in my life. I left high school and a torturous existence behind and went to college. At Judson College, I found some of the things that I had been needing all my life. I made friends and was treated with dignity and respect for the first time.

Reluctantly, after only two years at Judson, I made a move to Oceanside, California in San Diego's North County. It was a move I think for the better. Since 05.06.01, I have been living and working in Oceanside as a design engineer.

Dare I imagine what will come in the years ahead? Will a nuclear holocaust be reaped on the earth? Will the King of Terror come? Will the Child rise up and bring 'peace' and talks of peace? Who can tell?
