in an effort to pay the bills, Colby is covering cotton bales on one of our bishop's farm. actually, he really likes it, it's not hard, and the people are cool. it's halfway to levelland though, in smyer, so i don't go for lunch with him, & it's weird not having him around all day long. i need to do about a thousand loads of laundry, and maybe i'll make some spaghetti :) but they work early and go til really really late. like 14 hour days. but like i said, he seems to enjoy it, it's physical, but not strenuous.
the baby shower is tomorrow morning at 10am, call me if you need directions. i'm really excited, but i'm not even sure if Colby will be able to be there...i guess it depends on if they want him to come out tomorrow. they want to finish harvest before thanksgiving, and there's a lot to be done, especially since the weather is still super nice, and dry, apparently that's really important.
36 and a half weeks pregnant and i still feel okay, just huger than huge on some days. i need to be walking every day. baby hasn't dropped yet, and still no braxton hicks (practice contractions). chest pains came back the night before last, and it was almost eleven at night. what-a-nightmare. first we went to the new birthing center and they hooked me up to all this intimidating machinery with wires and stuff, and monitored baby and me for forever. they also said i wasn't drinking enough fluids, so i got two big apple juices, and we watched 101 dalmations and qvc. Then they said there's nothing wrong with baby, and that i needed to go to the ER, and they're expecting me, so now i feel like i have to go. but i was really hungry, so we ran home and cooked an egg and went back to the ER, where they did an EKG and stuck a huge needle in my hand (i have great veins, i'm told) and hooked me up to a bunch of equipment again. so we sat there for forever and watched jay Leno. by the time we got out of there it was 3 in the morning. they lady was like you can go to sleep if you want, under the million watt halogen fluorescent lights in there.
last night i learned infant cpr, and what to do if baby chokes. make sure all baby's toys won't fit through a toilet paper roll.
