i have no idea how that got into my head. it goes to the Johann Strauss tune, you know the one. well, i saw harry potter and the goblet of fire (that oughta change the stupid ads i have up there now about colby beef) on thursday night/friday morning at 12. as i mentioned, my sister paid the bill for that trip, colby ate a chihuahua burger, and i had a hot dog and french fries and we shared a hot cocoa and sat in the car at the drive in and laughed at emma watson. it was great.

i can't wait to go see the new Harry Potter! s'been a while since we've been to the movies. amy sent us money to go, AND buy popcorn! hooray! mum gave us a breadmaker that i don't know how to use, but i have a desire, so i'll figure it out. colby got the new harry potter game for me--it's really fun, 2 player, finally, and really different from the other 3. on saturday i got to pick up colby from work early, and we cleaned up and went to red lobster, and then we went back to the house to pick up the pups and went to plainview and played games, and went to church with me mum in the morning, and then came home and made dinner and a yummy turtle cake, and bro stone came over and i blew out candles and all that. and isaac called and sang to me.

wow. i miss colby a lot. it feels kinda like we're dating again. he calls me whenever he gets a minute (but our stupid phone won't hold a charge..AGAIN), so we talk just a little a few times a day. he's gone almost all the time now, i mean, i pick him up around midnight, and we come home, shower, and crawl into bed very sleepily. then 5-7 hours later we get up and i take him back to work. he doesn't have to work sundays, which is so wonderful, but no one else takes sundays off. not that it's a problem with his current employer, but this sunday is my birthday, and we never go out on sundays, so i really really wanted him to have off saturday night, too. if he can't have it, we'll just chill here at the house on my birthday, we can still have fun here, but it doesn't feel quite like a date, which is what i want. also it'll probably be the last "real date" we have for a several months, and the last one we'll be able to have without getting a sitter for years. not that getting a sitter'll be a huge deal, but when things are simple and smooth it's just real romantic like.

but hey, if it rains tomorrow or saturday, then they won't work anyway--which will probably be welcome by the whole crew, who've been working ~7am-12pm for 14 days straight now, and getting tired.

baby's still not dropped.

in an effort to pay the bills, Colby is covering cotton bales on one of our bishop's farm. actually, he really likes it, it's not hard, and the people are cool. it's halfway to levelland though, in smyer, so i don't go for lunch with him, & it's weird not having him around all day long. i need to do about a thousand loads of laundry, and maybe i'll make some spaghetti :) but they work early and go til really really late. like 14 hour days. but like i said, he seems to enjoy it, it's physical, but not strenuous.

the baby shower is tomorrow morning at 10am, call me if you need directions. i'm really excited, but i'm not even sure if Colby will be able to be there...i guess it depends on if they want him to come out tomorrow. they want to finish harvest before thanksgiving, and there's a lot to be done, especially since the weather is still super nice, and dry, apparently that's really important.

36 and a half weeks pregnant and i still feel okay, just huger than huge on some days. i need to be walking every day. baby hasn't dropped yet, and still no braxton hicks (practice contractions). chest pains came back the night before last, and it was almost eleven at night. what-a-nightmare. first we went to the new birthing center and they hooked me up to all this intimidating machinery with wires and stuff, and monitored baby and me for forever. they also said i wasn't drinking enough fluids, so i got two big apple juices, and we watched 101 dalmations and qvc. Then they said there's nothing wrong with baby, and that i needed to go to the ER, and they're expecting me, so now i feel like i have to go. but i was really hungry, so we ran home and cooked an egg and went back to the ER, where they did an EKG and stuck a huge needle in my hand (i have great veins, i'm told) and hooked me up to a bunch of equipment again. so we sat there for forever and watched jay Leno. by the time we got out of there it was 3 in the morning. they lady was like you can go to sleep if you want, under the million watt halogen fluorescent lights in there.

last night i learned infant cpr, and what to do if baby chokes. make sure all baby's toys won't fit through a toilet paper roll.
