Crimes are classified as either Serious or Non-Serious
2 ways to determine seriousness:
A codified list of serious crimes
A rule that states crimes are considered serious if their punishment exceeds a certain number of years
Most crimes are prosecuted by the victim or the legal counsel of the victim
Crimes which are not pursued by complaint (the victim) must be prosecuted by the State
The youngest age a person can be held responsible for a crime is 18
Over 80% of crime is unreported because of the peoples distrust and lack of faith in the police
Jurisdiction is commonly overlapped
-Unreliable service and reporting
Drug-related crimes are unbelievably high
Government is strictly attached to drug trafficking
Human Rights violations
Police use torture and coercion to force confessions
There are little rights granted to people
