Exchange Rates Going back to October 22nd, 1995
This rate chart is in United States Dollars, Euro's, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds, and shows the price of silver, and gold in Icelandic Kronur. I will be going farther back into the exchange rate history, but it takes a long time to type in these figures. These figures are best viewed by having your Text Size set for Medium, other wise, the columns might not line up.
The Yahoo Coin Survey Of Iceland
Thanks for viewing my site, I started collecting Icelandic Coins in February of 2003, and found out there was very little information, figured I could whine about it, or do something about it, so far I have included images of the 212 Different coins I have already, and will be adding to it along the way.
This Site Is Still Under Construction, I only started it in June, with a total of 442 scans, 3,167 links, and 355 files so far, and me only 75% done, I have not yet had a chance to check it all, if you encounter a dead link, a 'serious typo', or an image that wont load, please contact me at coindude1@charter.net so that I can fix the problem.
Iceland, in it's native Norwegian tongue, known as 'Lydveldid Island', an island about the size of Kentucky, lies in the North Atlantic Ocean, East of Greenland and just touchs the Arctic Circle. It is one of the most volcanic regions in the world. The island is dotted with small fresh water lakes, and there are many natural phenomena, including hot springs, geysers, sulphur beds, canyons, waterfalls, and swift rivers. More than 13% of the 39,786 sqare mile island is covered by snowfields and glaciers, and most of the 282,370 people(2003 estimate) live in the 7% of the island that is made up of fertile coastland. The Gulf Stream keeps Iceland's climate considerably milder than one would expect from an island near the Arctic Circle.
