I know the rhythm of ur body
The beat of ur arms
as you glide thru the water
it’s the feel of ur heart against my ear
hammering in your chest.
Without even looking
I can tell that it’s you
Traveling towards me
with your own perfect rhythm,
your own sense of time
the drumming as ur arms circle
pulling you closer to me
pushing away the space between us
you come close, but when you get here
you turn and swim away
that same perfect rhythm never ceasing
as the space between us grows
And you move past where my ears can find you.
But that perfect rhythm continues in my head
And in my heart
Because I know the rhythm of ur body
And the beat of ur heart
As you glide through my life.
