Eating Habits: The lynx rufus is basic carnivorous animal and it's favorite foods are deer and rabbits. Although, the majority of the two is rabbits the bobcat loves to eat rabbit, they also eat woodrats, tree squirrels, deer mouse. A lynx rufus can eat a deer carcass and the flesh will last for about a week. In the season that the population of the hare is high it is the larger percentage of the bobcats diet. The lynx rufus is not a very picky eater, at time when the population of the hare is low the bobcat will eat eggs, birds, frogs, reptiles, and just about anything they can catch.

Predators and defense: this bobcat has very few enemies, except for the foxes and the great horned owls are known to kill the young lynx rufus bobcats.
