A lil description of myself:
My name is sara, im 16 live in florida and ive been drawing for maybe....6 months now. I'm 5'9, blonde, blue-green eyes and i surf, play soccer, run, sing and also do photography. ( kind of..)
Things i love include: my typos, summer, all my friends, days when everything just feels right, surfing clean lefts, showing macho guys that im not some lil blonde haired poser, taking pictures of my friends surfing, skimboarding... my way :-D, surfing with a bunch of friends, my paint pens, cocoa beach....minus the tourist, singing, bathingsuits, my white blonde hair that i miss so much :-(, guys :-p
things i hate include: girls who put on acts and dont act themselves, backstabing friends, people who can't keep secrets, hardcore gossipers, impossible crushes, jellyfish, those girls who go out and surf and act lke they're gonna ctatch wave, but never do..... guys who think im out there surfing because of blue crush...( GAYYYY), tanning beds, orange nail polish, sea turtles (scare me), when you write type a 10 page report and your computer freezes, chemistry, math, english, baisically any acidemic subject. (hints the reason i cant spell)... those nights when you just want someone to be there, but no one is.

an interview with myself...
how long have you been drawing: only about 5-6 months... ive always been a creative arstyish person growing up, and one da it just clicked
what gave you your first idea that you should start drawing? i bought my 5'9 surfboard and i wanted something on it to make it original... somewhere along the lines of ordering my board i decided betty boop is perfect. shes so.. kick arse... i figured it was easy to draw so i drew and painted it in less than 2 hours. everyone told me it was awesome so i just started getting ideas....
so your first real drawing is on your surfboard?.. uh ya... and i still ride it. i love it!.. fun board...
what other stuff got you started in drawing? theres actually many reasons.. in november 2003 i started messing around with pencils and learned i wasnt to shabby at sketching either so i do that on and off too. I just fell in love with drawing what i draw because i can relate to it. Its like all surf/beach related and thats what i grew up with. I also quit doing a few things that i realllllly loved and i was commited too, soccer and track, because of my own reasons... so i needed something to do in my spare time
does your family support you? definitly, although sometimes i feel like they overlook alot of my stuff. But everyoen including my grandparents, cousins, aunts ect. think its pretty cool. but at the same time i always wonder if they really like it or if they're just saying that because they're my family and they have to be nice... but ya my parents buy most of my paint pens, and they dont mind because they said its a good investment, keeps me off the streets :-p
whos your biggest influence? drew brophy hands down... is my all time favorite artist. i saw his art and started off just drawing a lot of his stuff, and i picked up a few things by just looking at his art. I love his colors, its exactly the way id imagine stuff in my head, i was just never able to put it on paper yet. and i saw this guy's stuff and was like.. AWESOME... so now i draw my own stuff, but its very similar to his. I think my style is a lil more girly/elegent in a way sometimes.
whats your favorite thing to draw? and draw on? surfboards are my favorite because its so easy to just draw on them, and i just like how paint pens work on it and how its easy to blend and stuff. My favorite thing to draw are waves and mermaids. waves being the most popular with everyone else.. but ive started liking mermaids too... and suns are fun o draw because you can draw them is like 1000 different ways. have you made any money off of this? well kind of... i did one guys board for some money, but i find it so hard to ask friends to pay me for my work.. i feel bad, even though i know i should because everyone tells me its worth the money. I've had 3 people tell me they're gonna talk to people and get me jobs with surfboad shapers. Just today i got a call... im getting paid 25 dollars to draw a dog haha. Why do you draw? its something i can express myself in, and other people can see what i'm like through my art... very colorful person i guess?!... its also something ive become addicted too and i just look forward to coming home and drawing on someones board and stuff. Its something that'll always be there for me. It's something that i can focus on and stick with. where do you plan on going with your art? not sure... ive had a few people, one being a pro surfer tell me i'll go pretty far with this, probably work for "...lost" which would totally stoke me beyond belief if i got a job like that. as of now im just doing friends boards for some cash and doing other random drawings ( like dogs) for some money too. what ever supports the family haha
