4/8/03: Tuesday
Where to begin, OH where to begin. I'll try to run things in order, but it'll be hard. Omaha was fun. I dreaded leaving because I had so much going on here, but I had a great time. I had more fun in the hotel and hanging with people than I did for the purpose I was there. I became good friends with Jon and Becky and had a great time with them, also with Erin, Amy, Katy, Sarah, and geez... everyone else I hung out with. Too many to name. Anyways, our flight home was rough, and I just wanted to get home. After we boarded the first plane on time, they had to de-ice it and what not... so it took an hour for them to spray it down with water and anti-freeze. I think they actually did it twice. We spent more time waiting to leave than we did in the air. It was a 50 minute flight to Minneapolis from Omaha. So we finally arrived to the St. Paul Int'l Airport and got off the plane at about 6:20, and the next flight departed at 6:39. So, all 73 of us ran down the length of the entire airport (I think it was from corner to corner), and we got to the plane just in time. It turns out they held it for us... after all, we were a little more than 2/3 of the passengers with tickets for the plane. We ended up waiting about a half hour though for our luggage to arrive. I was stuck next to two old asian ladies. Nothing against asian ladies, but they smelled of cat urine, and when they were sleeping they were glaring at me. Luckily I had the aisle seat. I was also way in the back. So we got home about 11:15 or so (Providence rather), and Mr. Gabriele picked up me and his two kids and we bid our farewells to our buddies and headed to the homely town of Ledyard. I got to their house around 12:30 and left and got home around 1:00am Monday morning. Malari had just fallen asleep, so I didn't get to talk to her until Monday. That was cool though. So I still haven't unpacked and I'm going to do all my laundry tomorrow because I'm leaving midnight Thursday night for VA Beach with school. Anyways, Malari is just amazing. I cannot put into words how well things are going. She is just great to spend time with. I'm just so content when I'm with her. Content isn't a very good word. I would say I have no place I'd rather be. I'm generally totally relaxed when she's around. I'm happy. I'll have to think of a better word. We'll see. So yea, we had an early dismissal from school yesterday and I got to see her a little while afterwards, but I eventually went home because I didn't want to drive in the weather. It was the same kind of day that I put my car off the road. Lord knows I don't want that to happen again. That would be horrible. But I did ask her out yesterday. She said yes :-). Got a nice hug too. By the way, she gives great hugs...just thought I'd throw that in there. This morning we had a 90 minute delay, and seeing how I have first block off, I didn't have to go to school until 10:20. So, about 9 I called her and asked her to breakfast and picked her up and went to Dunkin Donuts. I know, I know, I work at Starbucks. But, in my lack of time and options, I had no place else to go. She was happy with it. I was too, although I had to force down their coffee. Tough to drink such watered down crap when I've been spoiled by the sophisticated stuff. I was happy though because I got to see her. Good way to start off the day. I got to see her after school too. Seeing how I had to go to work for 5:15, she invited me over and I went over sometime around 4 and just hung out. I love having a girlfriend. More importantly her as a girlfriend. It's just great. Her lil' bro Cameron and her parents are great to hang out with and talk to. I challenged her dad to a Jenga block building contest earlier. We'll see how that goes... .long story. Anyway, I just got off the phone with her and had a great chat with her. It's awesome because we see eye to eye on what seems like everything. We'll see how tomorrow goes. I'm going to put reservations on my tux tomorrow for prom. Maybe I'll update sooner... hey... maybe I'll be home?? We'll see...
