| Well, by now most of you are probably
wondering what happened to my car and why there is an indent fitting for
a telephone pole in my hood. Well, I will enlighten you. School was let
out early Thursday due to a huge snowstorm that seemed inevitable at the
time. It then almost cleared up, so they called it off and told the
plows to go home. Well, I was on my way to work after it began snowing,
and we had had an inch of slushie ice and an inch of snow. I guess in
every snow storm there are some kind of accidents to the few and
unfortunate. This time, it was me who pulled the short straw. So, I was
driving on 214 in front of Whalehead where the road slowly bends to the
left. Well, my car didn't bend with the road, but it kept going
straight... straight into the pole. I was doing the speed limit, and I
guess I took out a speed limit sign on the way. Mostly, I would've
completely knocked it over, but the pole stopped me before I was over
the sign. So dad showed up and a few people came out. My biggest fear
was that when I was waiting for him to come, that someone else would
slide off and jam my car further up the pole. Yea, that would stink. I
must say, I was impressed with the number of people that stopped to help
or to see if I was ok. I had everyone from teens, old ladies, to cute
freshman flashing me smiles and reaching the arm of kindness to help me
out. It was nice. Except for the smashed Civic. So, the heat showed up,
and I only got a written warning for driving too fast for conditions.
Then, I drove her home. There was no mechanical damage, but there was a
lot of cosmetical stuff. The AC Radiator was pretty much crowding my
exhaust manifold, and if you do not know, it's not good. I began to take
her apart today. As much as dad would allow. So I spent the rest of the
morning changing mom's and dad's oil, and helping dad change his car's
brakes. Besides that, we have 3 and 2 half cars in rotation between 4
drivers. But it all seems to be working. That's what happens when you
have a little faith. So in two weeks, the parts we ordered online will
be here, another week to paint the hood, and wah-lah... good as new. The
best part, we are doing it all ourselves. I've got the frontend torn
apart, and the hardest part is still yet to come, but it will all be
worth it. So, the Civic Project is back in action, again. I went to the
movies with a few friends from church and saw 'Bringing Down the House.'
It was great. Steve Martin is a comical genius. I also watched 'Requiem
For a Dream' earlier today. What a crazy movie. It was really good
though. I came home to my bro on the couch. I must say, he's not doing
so hot. Rather, very hot because his temperature spiked. So, if you're
religious (like I am), pray to God (or whomever your divine being is)
that he will be alright. Although we don't get along all the time, I
still need to show compassion. Oh well, that's all for now. Have a good
weekend...
