2/13/03: Thursday
Yes yes yes, I did update yesterday. I'm just so excited to stay on top of things I figured I'd update today. Anyways, besides all that excitement, here's what is new. The bombthreat was, and always is, a hoax. God forbid the time it's not a hoax, I honestly don't know what I'd do. Probably get in my car and drive, and not come back. Hmm, hopefully that never happens and the kids pulling the pranks will start using their time more wisely... like for learning. There's a concept. Classes are doing well. I felt really proud of myself in Gov Ec and Bio2 today because I had to have a paper (opinion paper) written for each class, and I think I did well supporting my opinion in both. Not only that, but I actually wrote the Bio2 paper out by hand first, and when i retyped it I kind of revised it. It was pretty sweet, although more time-consuming that I would have liked. But hey, what do I do at night anyway? I glaze over in front of the dim light of the computer screen while... well, I guess surfing the net. Today was talent show day. Well, audition day. I played a song I've been working on called... err.... no name yet, but it's nicknamed E-minor Tune... although it's really in G-minor. Odd. Click here if for some reason you'd like to see what I have on it as of right now. The second verse isn't quite done yet. I had to crank it out last night (without guitar) for the talent show audition today. They wanted us to play what we would play for the talent show, if we make it. So I picked something I've been pushing around lately, briefly finished it, and played it today. It seemed to go well. Pesco seemed to be running the show, and he asked afterwards if it was original. Of course I answered truthfully, and he seemed impressed I wrote such a song. So that was good. I also played "I'm With You" while Caitlyn sang... like the coffee house. I swear she sounds so good singing that song. I hope it all works out for the talent show final list posted tomorrow. If I had to choose, I'd want her to make it over my solo project. She deserves it more than I do. I try to be humble and not self-centered, but she is so good at that too. Sometimes I can get a bit caught up with myself and pick out moments to shine. I know it's natural for anyone to step into the limelight when they want to show off, but sometimes I'm just afraid I do it too much. Anyways, my music is more of a personal thing... the type of music good to play at coffee houses and such, not on a big stage with a lot of people surrounded by various dancing acts, rock band acts, and whatever else has tried out. We'll see what happens. No matter the outcome, I'll keep you guys posted. Work was good tonight too. We had an all-time low for customer stupidity. First we had what I nicknamed the 'Gay Parade'. I have nothing against gays of any kind, whatever floats your boat... just don't float it in my water. But there was a ton of them. Then there was the wigger, who looked like a dork but was clearly trying to dress as a black person may if they were 'ghetto fabulous'. Again, I'm not being prejudice, many black people do not dress in that fashion, but it is highly associated with the race... which is the image I'm trying to provoke in your mind. I said to Tim 'Yea, it can't get much worse.' Then the wigga ('scuse tha spellin') goes 'Yes it can'. Wow, quite 'deep' for what I thought his mental capability was. Wait, I'm kidding. Obviously it could get worse, and anyway, I wasn't talking to him. Then, it got worse. I dunno if they were drunk or just dumb, but in walked 4 blondes in their upper-twenties. I would call them 'valley girls who can't find the valley'. Of course again... I'm not...err... forget it. It's my web-page I'll prejudice and stereotype however I please. But what a group of idiots. Then there was the guy who asked for a 'latte, light and sweet'. Yea, don't try to stroll in looking cool and order something that makes absolutely no sense. In case you don't understand, if a latte could be ordered 'light and sweet', there would be no espresso in it whatsoever. The sweet part is fine, but theoretically, a latte is already 'very, very, extra, really, 90% light'. It's 90% steamed milk... idiot. Go figure. I was kind though. I wouldn't have minded if he didn't act like a big shot. I swear I don't just get mad at random people, there are reasons, and most of them are because of the way they are stuck on themselves. Oh well. So I realized I have been staying up late at night for about one reason... just to stay up. Why? I do not know. That means it's time to go to bed. G'nite...(as the days rolls from Wednesday to Thursday). Maybe tomorrow (or later today) I'll write more about that special someone. We'll see how it goes...
