The
Proposal
In March of 2002, we took
a vacation to Las Vegas, Nevada
to see two very special
friends that we met off the internet.
We arrived on a Sunday,
and on Tuesday, March 12th,
Angi, Sean and I all walked
to the mall. Lloyd showed up later *smiles*
Well I should have known
something was up because Angi just whisked Sean
away and told him that she
saw something he "just so needed to see" I sat talking
with Lloyd not really thinking
that they were up to anything. Boy, was I WRONG.
Sean came back with a big
grin on his face and we went back to Angi's and Lloyd's.
Thinking we were all in
for just a night of hanging out at the house, (because we
had all planned to go out
later that week) I was very shocked to hear Angi
say that we were going out
for the evening to see some of the sites.
We had dinner and left for
the evening. Angi brought her video camera,
but again I didn't think
anything of it.
She had talked about bringing
it when we went out anyway,
so that we would have a
film of all the sites for when we returned home.
We went and saw some of
the beautiful casinos
and ended up right in front
of the beautiful Ballagio hotel to see the waterworks show.
(the show by the way is
absolutely gorgeous)
After the show was over
, Sean leaned in, gave me a kiss and whispered in my ear
that he had a question to
ask me. I asked him what was up??..
(I was still pretty in awe
of the beautiful show we had just seen.)
My eyes just about popped
out of my head when he dropped down on one knee,
right there on the middle
of the strip, on the sidewalk,
in front of everyone that
had been watching the show,
and pulled out a small box
out of his pocket.
I burst into tears when
he opened it and inside was the most beautiful, perfect ring
I had ever seen in my life.
Then he asked me the most
important question I will ever answer in my life,
those five simple words
that still echo in my heart each and every day.
"Jaime will you marry me"?
And of course I said yes.
It was a perfect evening
and the greatest moment of my life.
And I am so very thankful,
that because of a dear friend, we have that moment on video
and will be able to replay
over and over again.
Thank you Angi. We love
you very much.
