NXL's leadership would like to invite you to a retreat at Aldersgate center. The retreat will feature pastor Mel Crutchfield as the speaker. Mel has chosen a theme of "Life Changes." Join us as we look at where we are now corporately and individually. Join us as we look at how we can set and reach goals for change. Join us as we explore God's promise of empowering our hearts and affecting change in our lives.

Knowing God: We are committed to helping our generation in the Portland metro area move to the next level in their relationship with God. Because of Christ's work for us on the cross, we are able to have a personal, loving relationship with God. Knowing God is the focus of who we are as individuals and as a community.
Building Community: Building relationships and making friends is a vital part of our community. A Biblical community is a place where you can feel at home among friends and be challenged in your faith. The Next Level ministry is committed to providing a place that encourages, challenges, accepts differences and provides support in times of need. As the Bible says, "Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together..." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Impacting the World: Our vision would be selfish if we didn't purposely set out to have impact on a world that is in need of hope. Our desire it to make an impact both tangibly and physically with our neighbors, co-workers, family, friends and people around the world. As Jesus said, "for the son of man came to seek and save what was lost." (Luke 19:10). That also is our goal!
Prayer: The Next Level desires to be a praying group. We know that God changes us through prayer and that "the prayers of a righteous man is powerful and effective." (James 5:16) Out of this desire we offer many opportunities for group prayer during the year. Out of this desire we teach and practice prayer so the Christian might be powerful and effective.
Small Groups: Our small group ministry is our main way to fulfilling our vision of building community and knowing God. Small groups are a great place to grow in your faith, study the Bible and develop strong, supportive friendships with others. We have groups that meet Mondays through Thursdays from about 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Each year NXL sends out mission teams to various places around the world with the purpose of bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to others. These trips and projects are an opportunity to bless people around the world and no experience is necessary! Past teams have gone to Peru, Czech Republic, Taiwan, Guatemala and Central Asia.
Each year NXL organizes outreach programs meant to inform and bless the community.

Our Sunday evening meeting is our main gathering for the week. We meet each Sunday at 6:23 p.m. at SunsetPresbyterian Church. It's a place to catch up with one anotherafter a busy week, but our primary focus is on worshipping God through music and teaching from the Word of God. Our goal is to grow deeper in our relationship with God through challenging talks and meaningful worship. Feel free to come early and stay late on Sunday nights.

We use Social events to build friendships and fellowship. There are several events during the year for you to join in times of fun! Our large events include a barn dance, Christmas party, BBQs, hikes, rafting trips and yearly retreats.
In the summer of 1991, a group of Portland's singles decided there was a need for a unique group for their generation. Because of Portland's need and God's blessing, the group grew beyond their expectations into our group abbreviated NXL. Within two and a half years we had over a hundred people attending regularly. We believe that God is using NXL to take people to the next level. We believe the NeXt Level is a positive influence upon Portland. Our vision is knowing God, building community, and impacting the world with the message of Christ's gospel. Our vision drives us! Please come and be a part of our vision.
