Lovers of the Mouse hopes to significantly change the direction and scope of Disney, re-introducing the phenomenon it is today. Founded in 1999, this uniquely Disney American company was the birthplace of progressive Disney, opening up the journalistic pathways to others. The professional company’s repertoire is cutting-edge, redefining the medium with all the passion, flair and precision that earned many of its members internet acclaim. A majority of the virtuosic writers came through the ranks of prestigious UC Colleges, majoring in English and Journalism.
Not content to simply being the internet world’s best, Artistic Director Courtney Catelli has expanded the company’s range and repertoire in a host of imaginative new directions. By using Disney as an instrument and a metaphor, LOTM crosses Disney and journalistic boundaries in artistically important ways, transcending craft to art and creating a new vocabulary for Disney. Catelli juxtaposes breathtaking aerial grace with hard driving percussive power and lightening-fast presentation. The result is a surprisingly contemporary, thoroughly engaging journalistic vision.
