Ilan lay held in Clouds arms for warmth and love but she hadn’t gotten any sleep last night. She was thinking of every thing that had happened. The fight, how she lost and how Cloud died. But he was alive now. She snuggled closer to him and smiled as Cloud wrapped his arms tighter around her in his sleep. The storm never let up during the night, it blocked the entrance of the cave as the snow had fallen hour after hour, blanketing the land in a lair of white and cold. Ilan shivers slightly despite her closeness to Cloud and she glances over to Cid who leans against a wall, head tipped forward slightly and snoring slightly. Sam lay sprawled in the middle of the cave snoring ever so softly. It was going to be a tough day…. And Ilan wasn’t fond of the cold.

Chapter Two
Ilan had just closed her eyes when Cloud yawned and opened his.
“Hmmm…. Morning Ilan.” Cloud said and kisses her softly.
Ilan only smiles not really knowing what time it is but not really caring either.
“We better wake the others.” Ilan said softly.
“But I don’t wanna…” Cloud groaned out not fully awake and let her go just long enough to stretch and then wrapped his arms around her again.
Ilan didn’t argue, She just cuddled up to Cloud as close as she could and Cloud puts his chin on top of her head. She closes her eyes and listens to Cloud’s heartbeat for a while proving he’s alive and is lulled into sleep by the same rhythm. Cloud closes his eyes and lays there with Ilan in his arms. He would do anything to protect her, because he loves her so. Cid sat up stretched and yawns loudly. He blinked the sleepiness out of his eyes and popped his neck and his back. He stretched out his arms in front of him and pawed around for his weapon and then it occurred to him he wasn’t going to find it. Cid groaned loudly and flopped back against the wall.
“OW! $*%@#!!” Cid cursed as he banged his head against the wall.
Cloud couldn’t help but smile. Cid rubbed the back of his head and glared over at Cloud catching the smile.
“Clod-boy!!!” Cid yelled in cloud direction.
Cloud snickered and opened his eyes.
“Cid?” Cloud said playing innocent.
“Idiot.” Cid grumbled and sat forward again leaning on his knees, “We got a long trip ahead of us…”
“And we’re not leaving Domar or Ilan behind.” Cloud said his eye flashing a challenge daring Cid to accept.
Cid backed down slightly but not all the way. There was still the matter of how Domar was going to be carried.
“How we gonna bring Domar along Cloud?” Cid questioned.
“Sam’s going to caring him since his body temp. is naturally cool.” Sam stated in third person.
Cloud and Cid looked over at Sam who was still sprawled in the middle of the cave but he was starring at the ceiling of the cave.
“Sam?” Cid blinked.
Sam sat up and brought his feet together, draping his small silver shoulder cloak on his shoulders.
“You heard me. My body temperature is naturally lower then any of yours. Domar being dead, his body is cold and if anyone else carries him you’ll pass out from the cold snow and Domar’s cold body.” Sam said intelligently.
Cloud nodded his head and knew Sam was right about something and being rather intelligent about it to.
“Well then vampy-boy, let’s get going.” Cid said getting up.
Sam cast Cid a dark glare and snorted loudly. Cid grinned and looked around to see if there was something he could use as a make shift weapons. But there was nothing. Cloud let go of Ilan and sat up. He grabbed her by one arm and pulled her gently up into a sitting position and lifted her onto his back. He held on to her legs carrying her piggyback style. Cid walked up to Cloud and Ilan and took off his coat and put it on Ilan.
“With the clothes she’s wearing she’ll freeze to death faster then any of us.” Cid said.
Cloud nods his head and turns to Sam.
“You ready to get going?” Cloud asked.
Sam got up and walked over to Domar’s body. He picked it up the same way Cloud picked up Ilan, but pauses. He stops and tosses the shoulder cape at Cid.
“You’ll need it more then I.” Sam Said and picked up Domar again carrying him piggyback style.
Cid takes the cape and puts it on. Maybe Sam wasn’t such a bad guy, Cid thought to himself.
“Cid? You’ll need to clear out the entrance.” Cloud said turning to Cid.
“Yeah, no &*$# duh.” Cid muttered.
Cid walks up to the snow packed at the entrance and kicks at a few times. It falls down with a plop on top of Cid.
“&*$%#!!!” Cid cursed as he climbed out of the snow, “That’s COLD!!”
Cloud only grinned and walked past Cid out into the ankle deep snow. Cloud looked around the tried to remember what way to go.
“Cid?”
“I know Cloud. I know. We might get lost. But we have to risk it.” Cid said standing beside Cloud.
Cloud started walking again and sighed as Ilan started drooling on his shoulder for a second. She stopped and yawned but didn’t wake up. Cloud felt the chill hit his cheeks and he shivered slightly. Cid fallowed after Cloud and Sam Fallow Cid.
“So then. Where to?” Sam asked.
“You’ll take lead because you’re the only one with a weapon but I’ll tell you where to go.” Cloud said.
“Right.” Sam moves forward taking the lead.
Sam pauses to look around, and sighs. He kept on walking despite the cold and the weight on his back. Cloud shifted Ilan’s weight on his back over to his shoulder and he looks over at Cid and Sam. Cid shivers slightly with an unlit cigarette in his mouth, Sam just trudges on like a first class SOILDER letting nothing really stand in his way. Sam stops walking and looks back at Cloud.
“Where in the hell are the monsters???” Sam said in a slightly angry tone.
“I have no clue Sam.” Cloud said.
“This is spooky.” Cid mumbled to himself.
Cloud shook his head and they trudge on for hours, silence had fallen heavily between them all. All excepting to be jumped any time soon. The cold and had soaked threw everyone’s clothes who was walking, even start chilling Sam. Cloud felt the warmth of Ilan on his back and groaned. He had to keep on going for her, if not anything else. But it was so cold. Cloud looked around.
“Cid?” Cloud said as he turned around.
Cid lay face down in the snow, Sam stopped and turned around. Cloud walked up to Cid and booted him slightly with his foot.
“Cid… time to get up.” Cloud said just as he fell to his knees and onto his face.
So warm…. Cloud thought you himself. So warm, so tired. Gotta rest…..
Sam walked over to the three and placed Domar down beside them and stood watching over them before he fell into the snow, giving out of last desperate growl before he fell asleep.
