Darren Hayes responds
to stories of his canned video
Darren Hayes says his new blond curly hair has nothing to do with his video being canned.
"My mother rang me and said the papers are saying you redid your video because your
hair colour didn't work" Darren told Undercover News. "It is complete crap. My
hair is blond and it remains blond. We shot a video for Insatiable and it just sucked. To
be honest, it just wasn't that good and we all looked around and said "how did that
happen". We had just finished a new video that I love".
Darren also scoffs at reports that the canned video cost $800,000. "It probably
didn't cost anywhere near that. We may end up using some of it or release it in the future
but it just wasn't right, more than anything. I've done that before in the past. We shot
three videos for 'Truly Madly Deeply'. No-one probably knows but we did. Sometimes with
film you try something. With Insatiable, we tried but it just didn't convey what I thought
the song was on about. It's a very romantic song and its hard to capture that but I think
we did and I really love this video".
With all the attention to his hair and not to his music he admits he is surprised.
"It is bull, it is complete crap. I got onto the website because I heard about the
article that was posted. It is one of those things that I never believed happened to
people in the
public eye. It is a complete lie. It's not even true. My image is me. I look exactly the
same. I haven't touched my hair, I haven't touched my clothes. We just redid the video.
The woman that we used in the
video just didn't cut it."
