| "Darren
Hayes from Savage Garden, with his solo album, without any doubts will get the status of
the most important consoler of the broken maiden hearts. The history of Savage Garden's -
one of the most successful pop-duets of last times - break on the peak of the career is
still covered with a scales of mystery. However, nothing remains for Darren Hayes, the
singer of this duo, but to try to repeat ways of George Micheal or Robbie Williams. Or at
least, any Gary Barlow's one. Actually, if Darren moves towards anything - it is towards
vocal grimaces of Michael Jackson, imposed on rhythmical disco-funk bit. Here we'll
necessary hear both sobs, squeals and languid aspiration directly in a core of a
microphone. In half of album's ballads, disco rousing tunes liberate to tearful teen-pop.
Well and again on the second circle: has sobed, has squealed, has sighed. And in the
meantime sky is burned with hundreds of maiden lighters.. .. When album was not released
yet, our attention was paid to the fact, that it refers to as "Spin" - which
means "Turn" (it's like in due time was George Michael's epoch-making
"Older"). But there are no any especial turns in comparison with music of Savage
Garden on Hayes's album - only any bits of "rock" from his songs have
disappeared without leaving a trace. Only absolutely commercial pop-corn for top 40 hit
radio stations has remained."
