HE may still consider himself just a
lad from Logan but chart-topping
popstar Darren Hayes obviously enjoys looking at life with a
Hollywood tint.
Or perhaps he is no longer accustomed to the savage Queensland sun. The 30-year-old former "other half" of defunct pop duo
Savage Garden
yesterday refused in true celebrity-style to remove his designer wrap-
around sunglasses as he posed for the cameras.
Hayes who now spends much of his time in San
Francisco is
back home to promote his debut solo album, Spin. Last night, he
showcased the album at an invitation-only performance at Warner Bros
Movie World on the Gold Coast.
Earlier, the singer renowned for loving the spotlight and
glare of
publicity, made a brief public appearance looking like the boy next
door except, of course, for those sunnies.
Oblivious to many of the theme park's funseekers, the
newly-blond
Hayes arrived for a presentation by Premier Peter Beattie of gold and
platinum records for his album and hit single Insatiable,
respectively.
