As A Teen

Please understand and don't take it wrong
But the love we once had, is no longer strong
Maybe it'll come back
And maybe it'll grow
Maybe it'll burn out
And completely go

But don't be down, and don't be upset
We'll just find others, and pretty soon just forget
It may seem sad
But it's not all that bad
It's going to hurt, and sure there'll be pain
But you'll go out, find others, start over again

Don't as what happened, don't ask me what went wrong
I just woke up, and the feeling was gone
Don't beg me
Don't ask me
Don't plead me to see
To whatever you say
You know the answer to be

But babe, there'll always be a flicker
So let's not argue or bicker

I'm missin' meals, I'm losin' sleep
For some reason, I lie and weep
I can't seem to realize
What happened to the butterflies

They were here, if not, so near
And to me, they were so dear
The flowers grew in the meadow
And now they seem not to grow

Life was joy, it was so kind
Or was it, just in my mind
I know I have it, it's true love
It does, it fits me like a glove

I know my love for you is true
Without you, I'm more than blue
We were good, and I wonder why
Why it is, you say goodbye

Not perfum, rubies, nor diamond rings
I ask not for the things that money can buy

I wish not for treasures, no riches of gold
Not the clouds of heaven, if so you are told
I wish not for the things dreams may try
I want the most God could ever give to me
I want everything most valuable, you see
I want more than just life and to be

I am asking for the things I really need
Yes, life and you, and you most indeed.
