Biography
Spanking Dynamite began in a school classroom on a whim. Drummer Josh Vitalie called up a few of his friends to try to start a band. After a few "auditions" the original lineup was settled on. The original lineup consisted of Jesse Gunn on vocals/keyboards/guitar, Andrew Winniford on guitar/vocals, Joel Greenfield on bass/vocals and Josh Vitalie on drums. After three months of practicing and writing they went down to Hawaii to record their 7 song EP entitled "Bluegrass Explosion", which was a mockery of their hometown Sandpoint, Idaho. The CD yielded the local hit "Parker Said", which got some immediate radio airplay in Sandpoint. One night at a hotel party Jesse, Josh, Andrew and Joel found a new talent. His name was Josh "J." Hedlund. His songwriting and playing skills impressed the band so much the picked him up as a secondary guitar player for the band. After a few months of practicing, progressing and writing some inner turmoil arose in the band. Joel had lost interest and never came to practices, hence causing a halt in the songwriting process. It was only for so long, Joel quit Spanking Dynamite, claiming personal differences. Andrew switched over to bass and J. took up lead guitar duties and part songwriting duties. This is the current lineup for the band now.
