About my work.I originally got into photography because I got a job at a one hour photo lab and fell in love with the hobby. I went out and bought a Pentax K1000 and a 50mm lens and started taking pictures.
I still shoot with the same camera, although I have played around with some newer models, but have found that I love the control offered to me with a manual body. Everyone asks me when I will make the jump to Digital. I don't know exactly when I will, but I do know that it will be soon, just not yet, I want to make sure that I get into digital when it can honestly replace the quality that I can produce with my film camera. I guess old habits are hard to break.
Up to this point, I have been self educated in photography for the most part. I give most of the credit to my friend Mike Baek who actually took me to go buy the K1000, and then proceeded to teach me what he knew as we went out and just shot random pictures around the city, and on a couple different road trips around the state. Mike is currently back in Chicago, his home town, although I wish he would come to his senses and come back out to the great North West. |
