- The Real College Experience -
This is the life. You're out on your own, doin' what you want. No parents. But not all college experiences are the same. I've only been here a day and I've been taken through many of the actual college "things". I can safely say that my brother and sister(tucked away in solitude at BYU) haven't experienced as much as me in the three weeks they've been at school as I have in one day. There's the typical unspoken fued about who can play their music the loudest and not totally piss people off. There's the breaking of a window (not by me of course), cops circling the block every five minutes, loud music and talking in the middle of the night(which is why I'm not sleeping, and what has to be my favorite: a freestyle rap contest between a white guy and a black guy at 11:30 PM.
Why is that one my favorite? It's just so funny and absurd (or maybe it's just that I'm giddy from lack of sleep). They weren't even in the building. They were outside on the sidewalk, right below my window, three stories down(I'm on the fourth floor). I could
hear them loud and clear even with the window closed. They definitely weren't sparing the colorful metaphors. And the cops circling the block? I think that they were trying to get them to move along,
but they weren't successful.
Another thing I've heard a lot of is people desiring to get drunk and wasted. Riiiiiight. A lot of different people also mentioned a certain frat party which was (and I quote) "lame". I found it
interesting that several people used the same word to describe this "party", so I'm inclined to believe them.
Aaaawwww......college life.
