KANCHENJUNGA AREA TREKKING

Kanchenjunga area is situated eastern part of Nepal. It is categorized by different hill ethnic groups from those in the central and western regions, the Gurkhas, the soldiers recruited for service in the British army traditionally came form four ethnic groups, two of which the Rai & Limbu are concentrated in this region.

For a trekker, this area is attractive because it is little visited by tourist, the rhododendron forests are perhaps the most spectacular in Nepal and the mountain scenery offers new vistas. There are essentially none of the trekker lodges and inns that characterize the region north of Pokhara as well as the way to Everest. The high mountain regions are pretty well uninhabited and so those venturing there must be entirely self sufficient.
