DAY 4: MON - SINGAPORE / KUCHING
Your tour of Singapore starts with the Botanical Gardens and colorful Chinatown; then proceeds along the water-front, past the famous Raffles Hotel. See towering modern day "temples of finance" in the famous business district, the visually imposing facade of Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple, and ascend Mt. Faber lookout with its spectacular panoramic views of the city and busy harbor. Later, fly to Kuching, capital of the state of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. Kuching is a lovely inland port with an interesting waterfront, landscaped parks and historical buildings. It was the former administrative center of the White Rajahs who ruled until 1946. DAY 5: TUE - LEMANAK RIVER EXCURSION
Embarking on a truly exotic adventure, your river safari takes you deep into the jungle. DAY 6: WED - KUCHING

DAY 7: THU - KUCHING / KOTA KINABALU
Fly across the island to the "Land Below the Wind," as Kota Kinabalu, the capital of the state of Sabah, is popularly known. Your tour includes a visit to the city center, the State Mosque whose golden dome dominates the city, and the National Museum displaying tribal artifacts and ancient porcelain. DAY 8: FRI - SANDAKAN EXCURSION
A short flight takes you to Sandakan, home to the famed "Wild Men of Borneo," the orangutan. The morning is reserved for an extensive visit to Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary for the unique pleasure of a close encounter with the friendly "people of the forest." Tread dense jungle paths and learn how orphaned orangutan babies are nurtured and taught skills they need prior to release back into the jungles. Fly back to Kuching at the end of the day. B, L

DAY 9: SAT - MT. KINABALU / KUALA LUMPUR
Ascend the heights of Mt. Kinabalu. At 13,455 feet, this volcano is the highest mountain in all of South East Asia! Indigenous peoples traditionally regard it as the sacred homeland of spirits and the final resting place of departed souls. Atop the cone, a nature walk allows time to photograph spectacular and rare flora and fauna, including vibrantly colored butterflies and insects. DAY 10: SUN - MALACCA EXCURSION
Malacca is located on the southwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Steeped in history, it was colonized by the Portuguese in 1511, the Dutch in 1641, and the British in 1824. This former capital city features an interesting blend of architecture & legacies of its former rulers. Visit Malacca Sultanate Palace and the Stadthuys, believed to be the oldest Dutch building in the East, now housing the Malacca Museum. Porta de Santiago is part of the fortress A Famosa, built by the Portuguese in 1511. B, L

INDONESIA

DAY 11: MON - KUALA LUMPUR / JOGYAKARTA
Your tour of Kuala Lumpur includes highlights of the Lake Gardens, the National Museum displaying arts and crafts of Malaysia, Majid Negara contemporary mosque and various monuments. DAY 12: TUE - BOROBUDUR & PRAMBANAN EXCURSION
Home of the world's largest Buddhist monument, Borobudur is set amid a backdrop of volcanoes. This vast, ancient site features thousands of sculptures rising on seven levels and represents the peak of 8th-10th century South Asian Buddhist art. It is the oldest Mahayana Buddhist Temple in Indonesia. Later explore Prambanan, an ancient complex built in the style of Javanese-Hindu art and standing on the ethereal heights of the Dieng Plateau. DAY 13: WED - JOGYAKARTA / BALI
Visit the elegant Kraton Royal Center. Its myriad museums, temples, crafts workshops and markets display the finest court architecture in Java. Jogyakarta is one of the country's foremost cultural centers. Dioramas with life-size puppets show the grandeur of earlier times, including a royal wedding. See fabulous batiks being produced, for which the area is famous. This afternoon, fly to the storied island paradise of Bali. NUSA DUA BEACH RESORT B, D

DAY 14: THU - UBUD & KINTAMANI EXCURSION
Explore quaint villages, such as Ubud, where centuries-old traditions have been preserved. World-famous treasures made here include intricate paintings, sculpture and wood carvings. In an ancient temple courtyard, see the famous Barong and Kris dances performed by a multitude of dancers and a gamelan orchestra. Later, at the mountain village of Kintamani, browse in a colorful bazaar and marvel at panoramic vistas from atop the lip of Batur Crater. B, L

DAY 15: FRI - DENPASAR SIGHTSEEING
Community temples called Pura abound in this city. One of these houses the Museum, featuring a variety of prehistoric and modern art. Visit the Art Center with its excellent display of local handicrafts and art. Later, stroll through a local market for a taste of the island lifestyle. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy lovely Bali. B, D

DAY 16: SAT - BALI / HOME
This afternoon you depart fantastic Bali on your Singapore Airlines flight home, taking with you an appreciation of a new way of life and a fascinating culture. B
