Detectorhead's Prized Tokens

All found in Baker City Oregon

Not pretty, but one of my favorites. An unlisted Brunswick Balke. Flip side reads "Good for one cigar, A.Hausmann & Co. Baker City" COLLIER counterstrike on both sides. Might have traded it with a token dealer, but the way that his eyes bugged out told me that this was something special. Incidentally this dealer is a good head, friendly and very fair in his trading.

Here is a really ugly 5c token for the Fort Spokane Post Canteen.

Wish I knew the history behind it, found it in a residential yard that wasn't that old. Possible that it was lost by during the 1880's when some cavalry detachments were camped nearby during the Bannock Indian War. Incidentally, the Bannock War is one of the old West's really untold story. More fascinating but much less well romanticized than the earlier Nez Perce War.

Here is an unlisted Baker City token; a 12 1/2 c for the Brunswick Bar. Not too bad of shape for an aluminum token.

A 50c K of P token from Baker that is also unlisted. Nice big token in good shape.
