*Nick, Howie, and Kevin just went scuba diving recently! The three BSB members received their PADI Open Water Scuba Certifications through "Stuart Cove's Dive South Ocean resort" just south of Nassau. The trio, who proved to be "underwater naturals" according to instructors, were able to explore shallow shipwrecks, colorful coral reefs and even historic underwater sets used in the filming of several James Bond films.

*Nick Carter is auctioning off his autographed sectional couch to benefit the Tampa Children's Hospital. The couch is split into three sections, and each individual autographed piece is up for bid. The auction is taking place in conjunction with the Brandon Ford dealership and Tampa television station WFTS ABC 28 (wfts.com). Paul Levine, the owner and president of Brandon Ford, explained to LAUNCH how Nick's couch ended up behind red velvet ropes in the middle of his automobile showroom. "Well, I happen to be friends with Nick, and Nick told me that he was thinking about getting some new furniture and he was gonna get rid of the old, and we decided to take the couch right out of his house," he explained. "We brought it down to the dealership here -- Brandon Ford -- and we brought him down here and we had him autograph all three pieces of the couch. * Last week AJ and Howie were in Germany for a few days. Our Dutch music tv network TMF had an interview with them which will be broadcasted Wednesday May 24 in P.M.! The lady who interviewed them already told us how they were handed the TMF award they recently won for "Best International Live Act" and how Howie and AJ "fought" over it, because they both wanted to take it to their mom's houses!!
* On the official Carter Family homepage it was confirmed that Aaron's single release has been moved to July 25, 2000. His album will now be out early September. The book "Aaron Carter, the little prince of pop", written by his mother was first scheduled to be out in April, but it's now June.
* Leslie Carter's official website, created by her record company Dreamworks, has a completely new lay-out! When you enter it, you're welcomed by the chorus of her first single "I need to hear it from you" and then she personally welcomes you to her new website! In the biography on her page, it says that she's been working on songs for her debut album in Los Angeles, Orlando and Boston and that this album will be out mid-2000.
*The "Backstreet Tribute" will be at Paramount Canada's Wonderland WEEKENDS only between May 7, 2000 and June 25, 2000. *Teen People's TV Special (hosted by N Sync's Justin Timberlake) airs Friday, May 26, 2000 at 8(EST) / 7(central). Check local listings to44 confirm.

*HOWIE REMEMBERS SISTER WITH BENEFIT CONCERT: Howie Dorough and his sisters Angie Haring and Pollyanna Dorough are organizing a concert called "Lupus 2000," a benefit concert in honor of their late sister(Caroline who died of Lupus). There's no firm lineup yet, but Christina Aguilera, fellow Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean, Sting, Deborah Cox, Leann Rimes, Jordan Knight, and Deborah Gibson have all been approached. British pop rocker Seal, who suffers from Lupus, has also been asked to perform for the benefit. At the concert Howie D. and his sisters plan to perform a new song called "Fly To Heaven" in memory of their late sister. The show is scheduled to take place on JUNE 25 at Universal Studios in Orlando.

* CONGRATS TO THE BOYS! At the 12th annual World Music Awards held in Monte Carlo, Monaco May 10, 2000, Howie D and AJ made a guest appearance to collect the award the BSB won for the "World's Best Selling Pop, Dance, R&B and American Group".
* Lionel Richie has requested the vocals of the BSB on his new album. The Backstreet Boys appear on Richie's upcoming single "Cinderella," which will be included on his "Renaissance" album, scheduled for release in June."
* Jackie Littrell, the mother of Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell -- will be the keynote speaker at Saint Joseph Healthcare's first annual Maternity Fair of Lexington, Kentucky, on May 13 at Saint Joseph East Hospital. Mrs. Littrell will be discussing "the joys of motherhood, as well as sharing her experience of her son's cardiac condition as a child," reads a press release from the hospital.
* Howie and AJ will make an appearance on The Gloria Estefan special on Friday May 12th, 2000.
* Sadly for The 50 Most Beautiful People Justin Timberlake took title as Number One on the charts, while Nick came in fourth! RATS!
* Some very sad news Carter fans...Great Grandma Theresa Phillips Spaulding passed away quietly at breakfast on Thursday morning, April 13 2000, at 8:25. She was with her friends when she died, and a wonderful, kind, gentle soul this woman was with friends, family, and all people alike. We will miss her greatly.
* According to the Dutch music network TMF, it was announced that Howie D will help his sister Pollyanna with a single called "Fly to heaven". The money earned from this hit single will be donated to Howie's fundation about Lupus. This song was written for Caroline (their other sister) whom passed away from Lupus long ago.
* The new music video for "The One" will be shown and aired tomorrow on Much Music! YEAH!
* The new BSB music video for "The One" will be released in early May.

* If you are in the Tampa area, More 32 will be showing The Bucs Vs. The Boys on April 27 at 7:30PM. It is Nick's charity Bball game with WCW wrestlers and the Buccaneers sponsored by 93.3FLZ. All the profits went to St.Joseph's Children's Hospital.
* Leslie will be releasing her very first single on June 16, 2000(her birthday!) It'll be called "I Want To Hear It From You".
* Rest in Peace Ashley Moore... Recently on the local radio station 99.7 WDJX they played Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey and dedicated it to Ashley Moore. The DJ went on to say that the Ashley Moore, who was 13 and a local resident passed away last week. Her funeral was on Sunday. He talked about how big of a Backstreet Boys fan she was and that the radio station worked extremely hard to get her tickets to the Cinncinatti show recently. She died of Leukemia. She was burried in her Backstreet Boys shirt. This is something very sad and upsetting.
* Remember how Nick and Brian played that basketball game recently for fundraising? They raised $80,000. Some of it going to a Florida hospital, some going to Brian's Healthy Heart charity. And they both donated $20,000. Aww, what sweeties! Nick is # 5 and Brian #23 (He must be a Michael Jordan fan)
* Backstreet Boys are in works of the new album which is due out in stores October 17, 2000!
* BSB will make an appearance on the Howard Stern Show on April 11th. By what AJ said the BSB and Howard met after the Grammy's and decided to appear on his show.
* Nick and his parents, Robert and Jane Carter have purchased a 10,000 square foot home on 100 acres on Santa Ynez Valley for $3.3 Million. The family, which also has a home in Palos Verdes Peninsula, recently settled into their Santa Ynez residence, which they bought in the Fall. Built about nine years ago, the Santa Ynez home has a small lake, swimming pool, tennis court, barn and guest apartment.
* This weekend (April 8 and 9) it's gonna be "Backstreet Boy Weekend" on MTV Europe.
* Nick's sister (Leslie) sang in the choir for "The Perfect Fan".

Bucs players scheduled to appear include Brad Culpepper, Shaun King, Martin Gramatica, Mark Royals and Warren Sapp. 93-3 FLZ Morning Show gurus, MJ & BJ, along with Dj’s Kane, Jomama Johnson and others will heat up the court in an effort to benefit St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.
* Nick Recently donated $13,703 to St. Joeseph's Foundation/hospital. The exact same hospital Brian Littrell had his heart surgery and is supporting his foundation(Brian Heart Endowment Foundation). * Nick called in MTV right after BSB announced that "The One" would be the next single. He mentioned that they (BSB) were talking about how they wanted to do a western type of video for "The One"!! Can you picture Nick as a cowboy??? LOL!

* On ZPL radio in Indy, Thursday morning Nick had a radio interview. The dj's forgot to turn off the microphone when they were dialing Nick's number and said it on the air for all to hear. Nick now has to change his phone number. He gave the dj's the code so they could play some of the messages he got on the air. They said he was a little ticked that he has to change his number but appreciated all of the nice things the fans who did leave messages had to say.

* Nick got a new pug, her name is Precious. Recently one of Nick's other pugs passed away so the Carter family bought Precious to remind them of him.

* "Someday Out of the Blue" featuring the Backstreet Boys on backing vocals - is expected to be the first single from Elton's "El Dorado" project, his next album. The song is scheduled for a mid-to-late January release and, like the album and the movie, will receive a mammoth promotional push. The soundtrack is for the animated DreamWorks movie "The Road to El Dorado", which will be coming to theaters in March. The soundtrack will also be released at that time.
* On Leslie Carter's official website it informs us that her first single "I want to hear it from you" will feature on MTV in the next couple of weeks! And Aaron will also be releasing another new single called "I Want Candy".
* Brian is engaged to Leighanne Wallace! Sorry Brian fans but he has finally decided to settle down and marry the one he loves. I'm not surprised though for he loves her very much and I'm sure he would appreciate it if you don't get upset. Brian proposed in front of Leighanne's family over the Christmas holiday and is rumored to be wedded sometime in September(Though no real date has been confirmed).He and his cousin Kevin announced this information on MTV(go to www.mtv.com for an article too). Also Kevin is engaged to someone as well(her name is Kristian). They have been dating for over 7 years! He finally proposed on Valentine's Day(how sweet). * Nick loves playing pranks on the road and always seems to get away with it! During the recent Into The Millennium Tour, he stocked up on firecrackers to put under toilet seats and surprise the other boys!
* Nick's dreams of making a comic book will come to an end for it'll become reality! The Boys are working with Stan Lee Media to create their very own Comic Strip! This new comic strip will be web-based. Stan Lee and the Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter will serve as co-creators of "The Backstreet Project," and a special edition comic book introducing the series will be available for sale at the group's concerts beginning on
February 19 in Atlanta, Georgia.
* Brian and his brother Harold Jr. will be making a duet song together, but are unsure when they should start recording.
* The kewl BSB "Standing Room Only" is not due out for quite a long time. The BSB producers confirmed that they are unsure when the video would come out.
* The BSB have signed an exclusive deal with fast food chain Burger King to promote their new single, album and tour in the US. A video of interviews and backsage footage with the band will be sold exclusively at Burger Kings in the US. The boys will also issue a single and previously unreleased material as part of the promotion. Their new album, Jive, is due out in October, during their next US tour.

* Nick's mom is making a intimate video called "A Movie only a mother can show". I am unsure when it will come out but it contains personal home footage and clips!
* The threat the BSB made to Jive of leaving has settled and the boys decided to stick with the company.

*In the BSB concert on November 11th at the skydome Nick's voice kept cracking up because he was sick! Poor Nick! I hope he's better now!
