EXAMINE YOUR FOUNDATION
MATHEW 7:21 Some sport fans can "talk" a great game, but that tells you nothing about their athletic skills...Not everyone who talks about Heaven belongs to God's Kingdom.
Jesus is more concerned about our walk than our talk. He wants us to do right. Not just say the right words. Your house(which represents your life.)will stand the storms of life, only if you do what is right, instead of just talking about it.
WHAT YOU DO CANNOT BE SEPERATED FROM WHAT YOU BELIEVE.MATHEW 7:22 Jesus exposed those who sounded religious, but had no personal relationship with him. On the day of judgement, only our relationship with christ- Our acceptance of Him as Saviour and obedience to Him will mater.
Many people think that if they are "GOOD" and sound religious...They will be rewarded with Eternal Life.
In reality, Faith in Christ is what will count at judgement.
Judgement is the final day of reckoning. When God will settle ALLaccounts, judging sin and rewarding Faith.
MATHEW 7:24-27 Obeying God is compared to building a house an a strong, solid foundation that stands firm when storms come. When life is calm, our foundations dont seem to matter. When crisis comes, Our foundations are tested. We as Christians NEED to make sure our lives are built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.
Most people do not deliberatly seek a false or inferior foundation upon which to build their lives...Instead they just dont think about their life's purpose.
Many people are headed for destruction, not out of stunberness, but out of thoughtlessness.
Part of our responsibility as believers, is to help others Stop, and Think about where their lives are headed, and to point out the consequences of ignoring Christ's message.
LUKE 6:46-49 Why would people build their house on sand?
Maybe they want to avoid the Hard work of preparing a strong foundation.
Myabe they are short of time...possibly the water front scenery is more attractive, or the beach house's have a higher social statues than the cliff house.
Perhaps they are joining their friends, who have already settled in sandy areas.
Maybe they havent heard about the Violent storms coming, or they discounted the reports.
Whatever the reason...Sand builders have these features in common:
(1)They are shortsided.
(2)THEY WILL BE SORRY!!!
WHEN YOU FIND YOURSELF LISTENING, BUT NOT OBEYING, ASK YOURSELF WHAT ARE YOUR REASONS?
