Kidman, Rey Mysterio Jr. & Eddy Guerrero d. Vampiro & Insane Clown Posse with Raven
Lots of six man brawling mixed with high flying action here. ICP showed fine ability double teaming Rey Mysterio Jr. and, later, Eddy Guerrero. Vampiro hit the move of the night, Spiking Rey Jr. outside the ring. In the end, Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press on Shaggy 2 Dope for the win.
WCW TAG TEAM TITLES
Harlem Heat d. Kanyon & Bam Bam Bigelow
The Triad was forced to wrestle without the services of Diamond Dallas Page, who was preparing for his U.S. Title match later in the show. That gave added incentive to Harlem Heat, who were shooting for their record eighth title reign. Kanyon and Booker T dominated each teams respective offense, but it was a run in by Page that made all the difference. His interference backfired, as he knocked out Bam Bam Bigelow, allowing Booker T to hit the missile dropkick. Three seconds later, Harlem Heat were champions.
The Revolution (Saturn, Shane Douglas & Dean Malenko) d. West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham & Bobby Duncam, Jr.)
Plenty of brawling in this one. Shane Douglas was made the victim of a West Texas triple team. One of those Texans should have been looking out for Saturn though, as he hit Bobby Duncam, Jr. with the DVD for a big win.
Buff Bagwell d. The Cat with Sonny Onoo
Bagwell and Miller traded barbs over the house mic, as the biker filled crowd assaulted The Cat with chants of pussycat. The chants threw Miller off his game, as he was dominated by Bagwell. The end came after some mistimed interference by Sonny Onoo, which allowed Bagwell to roll-up The Cat for the 1-2-3.
U.S. TITLE MATCH NO DQ
Chris Benoit d. Diamond Dallas Page
This was the rubber match for these two, after both men scored wins over the past ten days. Both Benoit and Page played to their strengths, with Benoit using his intensity to combat Page's brawling acumen. DDP took a momentary advantage by using referee Charles Robinson's belt as a weapon to whip a tied-up Benoit. The new U.S. Champion was able to fight back, rocking Page with three consecutive German suplexes. Both Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow ran in to save their Jersey ally, but their help did little good. Bigelow accidentally head-butted DDP in the groin, allowing Benoit to execute his flying head-butt for the win. He was congratulated by the Revolution after the match.
WCW.Com s Chad Damiani gave away an American Ironhorse motorcycle with the help of the President of American Ironhorse, Jim Edmondson. The winner was Darnell Potter of Cleveland, Ohio.
Sid Vicious d. Sting
In the battle between The Millenium Man and The Franchise, neither man backed down. Sting battled back from an awesome display of power by Vicious to rock the big man with consecutive Stinger Splashes. The third time was not the charm, however, as Vicious caught Sting with his giant hand and laid him out with a monstrous chokeslam. This clean pin was Sid Vicious' most impressive match yet.
Goldberg d. Rick Steiner
There was no shortage of hatred between these two. They brawled to start the match, with Goldberg finally pulling ahead with a standing sidekick. Steiner used referee Mickey Jay as a roadblock, knocking Goldberg down and going to work on his reconstructed knee. Steiner tore Goldberg s kneebrace off, and repeatedly attacked him with it. Goldberg was able to battle back, knocking Steiner senseless with a press bodyslam. One Spear and Jackhammer combination and it was all over. Goldberg was back on top.
Randy Savage d. Dennis Rodman
Savage was without Gorgeous George for fear that Rodman would make another attempt to kidnap her. These two maniacs brawled all over the building. After knocking out four referees between them, Rodman and Savage made their way to the backstage trailers. Savage tossed some poor soul out of a Portajohn, then tossed Rodman in! To make matters worse, Savage promptly tipped the Portajohn over, spilling waste all over Rodman. The two men brawled back to ringside, where Gorgeous George made a shocking appearance. She handed Savage a chain, then nailed Rodman in the groin. Savage took one swing with his loaded fist and knocked the former rebounding champ out for the 1-2-3.
WCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
Hulk Hogan d. Kevin Nash
Hogan arrived on the scene in his familiar red and yellow ring attire. Nash and Hogan traded power moves to start the match. Nash challenged Hogan to a test of strength. Hogan accepted, but was dominated by Big Sexy. Nash brutalized the Hulkster with power moves, even hitting a version of Hogan s big boot. It was time for the Jacknife powerbomb! Nash hoisted Hogan up and annihilated him. This match looked to be over. But on the two count, Hogan made a shocking recovery. The crowd exploded as the wrestling legend began to Hulk Up. Hogan hit the big boot on Nash, then dropped his patented legdrop. Three seconds later, Hulk Hogan had retained the Championship and Kevin Nash was retired.
